Honestly never thought I was even gonna set foot in Soul Eater fanfiction territory, but here ya go. Just finished episode 25, and I'm already itching to see something like this happen... You better not disappoint me, Soul. -shakes fist-

The cool night air swept through the girl's dirty blonde hair, and made her trench coat billow behind her. The breeze felt oddly refreshing snaking through her bare legs. Above her, the moon smiled its Cheshire grin, blood dripping from its yellowed teeth. The cobblestones beneath her were uneven, surprising her feet with every step. Maka Albarn smiled pensively as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of Death City at night.
"Hey, Maka." A nonchalant voice stirred her from her reverie, and she opened her eyes to see her weapon partner standing before her, his signature crooked smirk on his lips. The girl couldn't help but smile back, taking a step toward him. Soul Eater extended a hand, which she took, and he pulled her close - much closer than they were accustomed to being. His brilliant crimson eyes held her gaze fearlessly, confidently.
"Soul..." Maka's voice came out much softer than she'd intended. Soul lifted her hand, which he still held in his own, and pulled her glove off, entwining their fingers.
"Check this." A grin danced in his blood-red eyes. Maka's breath hitched as she felt their souls resonating, as if winding together like serpents. Without realizing, she clutched his hand tighter, his rough, calloused skin feeling oddly soothing against her own smooth fingers. The feeling grew more tangible, pulsing throughout her entire body; all at once, she felt stronger, yet somehow... weaker.
"... Wow," she said, barely managing to breathe the word, her hazel eyes still locked with her partner's intense gaze.
Soul chuckled a little at her reaction. "I know, right?" His shark-like grin softened, and his voice had lost its usual edge. His other hand moved to curl around Maka's waist, and he leaned forward to close what little distance remained between them.
Wavelengths surged through Maka as Soul's lips connected with hers. The closest thing she'd ever felt to this was their Soul Resonance when using the Witch Hunter technique, but... this was different. This was... deeper. She allowed herself to melt into her partner's movements. She'd never anticipated that Soul would be this... gentle. It was a little strange, but it felt overwhelmingly right, even as their lips and tongues moved harmoniously with their soul waves. Maka shivered slightly at the sensation of Soul's teeth - she'd expected them to be razor sharp, but they were surprisingly rounded, like a normal human's canines.
After a few moments, they separated to draw breath. Maka stared into his eyes, placing her free hand on his chest. "S-Soul, I..."
"Seriously, Maka?" he murmured, that grin quirking his lips. "Interrupting a kiss for dialogue? That's so uncool." He moved in to resume the action, and their souls hummed comfortably.
Maka understood. She didn't need to say anything. Soul already knew.

Guys... This is the first fanfic I've ever written that revolves around a straight pairing. (My early OC shit doesn't count. I deleted all that. I AM A DIFFERENT PERSON NOW.) It was... really strange describing a kissing scene that didn't involve two guys. But you know, I really love this pair. I've honestly never been so enamored with a het pairing, but Soul and Maka just... Gah I dunno what they do to me, but I love it!
And now I'm off to watch more of the anime. (Dammit Kid, stop being sexy and hilarious at the same time! IT CONFUSES MY INNER WEEABOO FANGIRL DESU HORMONES!)
