The pregnancy had been a shock. She was scared and alone.
It was even a greater shock when she discovered that she would- wanted to – do this job.
She learned by doing it.
Her greatest lesson? Set the kiddo free.
She learned to love him with the greatest freedom, on a wing and a prayer that her choice was the right one.
He resented her for it. He had wanted a conventional parental unit.
So out of her league.
Tonight, she indulged him.
"Why do you keep on going back?"
