Hi all, got a new iPad so just testing it with a bit of writing.
Also I noticed that a few of you have said the baby becomes ill, do you think it's because maybe she's premature? I mean I can only think that one time Cal and Taylor... 'Done the deed' and that was in April (The Kings Crossing or the episode before that) meaning Taylor was only around eight months pregnant when she had Matilda but that's just my theory, that is if Matilda is Cal's daughter of course.
Anyway just a little scene from the mini episode, On Call. When Taylor fell asleep, what did Ethan and Cal do while she was under? Here is my one shot version. Enjoy!
Cal could see Taylor's eyes closing, he continued holding Matilda close to his body, trying to keep Taylor alert.
"Taylor. Hey Taylor." Taylor's eyes were drooping. "Taylor? Come on." By that point, Taylor fell unconscious.
"Cal?" Ethan called from behind him. "What's happened?"
"I think she passed out." Cal got up and placed the baby in the carry seat, felt Taylor's pulse then moved Taylor into a laying position on her side to be more comfortable. Cal just stared at her, not knowing what to think.
"What do we do now? With baby?" Ethan asked whilst looking at the infant.
"Well if she's mine then we can look after her." Cal looked at the baby whilst talking to Ethan.
"Cal, this is a baby, not a goldfish. They are a lot of responsibility." Ethan frowned, Cal stood up.
"I know, but she's my daughter and I spoke to Taylor, I suggested that she would surrender herself, I'll look after the baby while she is back inside." By this point Cal went to pick up the baby.
"And what happens when she gets out? She'll just take the baby right off you after you've gotten too attached to her." Ethan had a point.
"I said...well I said we would all be together." Cal hesitantly spoke. Ethan's face slightly angered.
"You said what?! Cal this is the woman that conned us and you expect me to play happy families with her?!" Ethan strained his voice from shouting so he wouldn't scare the baby.
"Well it's either that or me, her and the baby go away." Cal said.
"What?" Ethan felt a little hurt, that Cal would choose Taylor over him.
"But I said no. Taylor needs to face up to what she has done." Cal looked down at the floor. Ethan grabbed his cracked glasses and went over to Taylor.
"Cal, I know you care for her." Ethan said as he went to put the antibiotics in Taylor. "I only want to make sure you are safe, you and the baby. You remember when she got stabbed by someone, what if that someone comes after you or your baby because of her?" Ethan sadly frowned, thinking about it.
"That won't happen Ethan."
"How can you be so sure?" Cal thought about Ethan's question, he really wasn't sure.
"I'm sure." Cal lied, but he also felt like he was telling the truth. Taylor's thug doesn't know Cal so he thinks he is safe.
"Right, well the antibiotics are in. We'll just see what happens when she wakes up." Ethan stood up and went to the messenger bag on the desk.
"Hey." Cal grabbed Ethan's shoulder, Ethan turned around facing his brother. "Thank you." Cal smiled with a little tear. Ethan smiled lightly back then turned round back to the bag. Cal removed his hand from Ethan and continued to cuddle the baby.
About five seconds later, there was movement from Taylor. Cal was still looking at the baby and Ethan was looking through the bag for something for the baby as she was grizzling.
"Cal..." Taylor softly spoke. Cal looked up from the baby to Taylor and Ethan turned around to face Taylor.
"Hey." Cal whispered.
"I'll do it." Taylor smiled. Cal's eyes widened in surprise.
"You sure?" Cal asked, hoping Taylor wasn't joking.
"Yeah, I'll turn myself in." Taylor still smiled.
And that's what I think happen. I'm probably very far off with this idea, the brothers probably didn't even talk, they just stood in silence while Taylor was asleep but who knows :D
