Ookami Hitokage: I decided to start writing an Assassin's Creed fic. X3; That game is AWESOME.

Disclaimer!

Ookami Hitokage: I don't own Assassin's Creed. But I do own Caladwen, and anything you may not recognize.

It's a Dog Eat Cat World

The door swung open and was hastily shut and then locked as a young girl of perhaps nineteen walked into the apartment. "Mom, I'm home!" she called, stepping into the house. She held several shopping bags, and quickly strode into the hallway and into the small kitchen, where her mother was chopping onions.

"Hey, sweetie," she said, taking the bags from the girl as she placed them on the counter. "How was the drive, Caladwen?" she asked.

"Fine," she replied. A wave of dizziness hit her, and she grimaced. "Hey, mom, I'm gonna go and lie down for a bit, okay?" she said. At her mother's nod, Caladwen flitted out of the kitchen and into her room.

The apartment merely had five rooms: a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and two bedrooms. Caladwen and her mother were the only inhabitants.

Within moments, the girl had swiftly taken off her shoes, hurled them in a corner, and collapsed on the bed, loosely draping the comforter around her.

Cala rolled over, stretching. She'd slept well, and now it was time to wake up. Dinner was probably ready.

Wait. Had her comforter fallen off? And since when was her pillow so hard…?

She shot up, her gaze flickering around. What the hell…? Her room certainly wasn't brick. And dark. And damp. She tried to stand up, but found herself crashing to the ground, on all-fours…

Huh? Why couldn't she stand? Confused, Caladwen ran out of the alley, her four-leggedness bothering her. She gasped, nearly hurtling into a large group of people, all dressed oddly. And, for some reason, they were all huge. And they looked down at her, almost pitifully.

Caladwen scampered away from them, fearfully. What was going on?

Ah, yes. Finally, a puddle. The girl crept toward it…

And flinched away in shock.

Excuse me?! she thought, dumbstruck. She crept forward again, and saw, to her amazement and dismay, a cat looking back at her. It had white fur that was slightly dirty, and amber eyes. Caladwen slowly let her gaze travel down, and instead of human hands, she saw cat paws.

She opened her mouth to scream, but instead it came out like a scratchy cat yowl. She was a cat?! That was impossible! Improbable! Insane! No, she was definitely a human!

She snuck another look.

A cat was looking back at her.

Caladwen wailed again, getting odd looks from the odd people walking around her. I'm a cat! The former girl promptly started to freak out, something she should have done quite a while ago. She careened away from the puddle, getting underneath people's feet and nearly getting stepped on. She ran until she felt like her lungs would burst and like she was going in circles. This place was definitely not her city. No one dressed like that, walked around in the streets drunk or mentally inept, or begged for money. At least not like some of the women did. And the buildings definitely didn't look like that.

Now that she thought about it, the place looked horribly familiar…

What the hell?! I'm a cat in a video game?!

Assassins' Creed, to be precise.

Ookami Hitokage: Sorry for the shortness! This is my first Assassin's Creed fic, so I'm sorry if I've gotten anything wrong. Please review!
