James potter continued along the corridor trailing after a seriously annoyed red-head. She was trying her best to ignore him though the messy black haired boy with glasses just continued to beg for her approval. It wasn't happening.

"But why Lily?"

"Look Potter, the answer is no."

"Go out with me!"

"The answer is no!"

"LILY!!"

"OH GO AWAY! I HAVE HOMEWORK!" Lily screamed at James before entering the library, which was the one place he couldn't bother her as he and his best friend Sirius black had received a lifetime ban from the room. The other messy black haired boy rushed up to him excitedly

"JAMES! I have had Epilepsy!" he cried dramatically

"An Epilepsy?"

"Yeah, you know a vision."

"You mean an epiphany?"

"YEAH! That's the one."

"Cool, what about?"

"I know why Lily keeps saying no!"

This perked James up to no end. His eyes shone with excited which showed clearly by him expression.

"Well come on Pad's Merlin! Finally I know why!"

"Well when I say epiphany I mean I asked Mary"

"oh just tell me already!"
"It's because you never say the magic word."

"There are lots of magic words pads which one?"

"Please."

James was quite stunned. Please? Really could this one small word earn him a date.

"She didn't want to go out with you because she thought you were rude. But she says if you said please then she would say yes."

James cracked a smile.

"have I ever told you that I love you mate?"

"Lily?"

"what is it potter?" Lily asked as HE sat next to her one dinner in the great hall. She was rubbing her temples in an attempt to relieve the pain of her headache.

"will you go out with me?" he asked "please?".

Lily froze turning her head towards him.

"what did you say?"

"will you go out with me please?" he asked his fingers crossed.

Lily paused for a moment.

"I would like to" she answered as James smiled brilliantly before literally whooping with joy. He coughed suddenly and regained his posture.

"ahem, yeah erm… sorry. And Thank you."

"my pleasure James."
