CHAPTER ONE - A Grand Surprise
Rarity sorted out the different colors of fabrics she had. She soon finished, letting out a small smile. Suddenly, she heard the door into the designing room open, and she turned around. It was a white unicorn filly in the doorway.
"Princess Celestia needs to talk to you!" She shouted out excitedly. Rarity walked to her sister, confused at why she would need to just talk to her.
"And why is that?" She asked back to her younger sister. Sweetie Belle gave her a shrug, "I don't know." She was dumbfounded at the reason. Rarity finally gave a nod; she started to walk silently out of the boutique. After she closed the door of her shop she saw Celestia not too far from her house. Actually she wasn't going to chat with the princess alone; her friends were already there with the princess. She went on confidently to the princess.
"Rarity, it's pleasant to see you here. I have good news." The princess' voice was calm and soothing like the usual. All her friends – Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy – looked towards her with a smile.
"It's so exciting!" The pink earth pony shouted out with a leap of joy. Rainbow Dash laughed at the pony's usual excitement. Twilight nodded in agreement to Pinkie Pie.
"Well, don't wait, tell me!" Rarity smiled back. She flicked some of her hair to try not and get too jumpy.
"Princess Celestia has invited us to her grand gala tis year!" Applejack burst out. As if this was planned, the six began to cheer for a moment.
"Another gala? I must make your dresses!" She replied. But just then, she remembered what happened last time. Her friends didn't like the dresses she made for them and she didn't want that to happen again. "Actually… I'll be too busy to make them this time." She found an excuse to not let that happen.
"It's fine. We can find a way to dress fancy for this occasion. We understand if you're busy." Twilight spoke for all of them.
"I'll leave the readying for you. Farewell." Princess Celestia smiled. She galloped to her carriage that was drawn by two of her guards. Soon, they set off to Equestria.
"Now I've got to get ready." Rainbow Dash was the first to leave. She pumped her wings and flew off.
"Same here!" Applejack turned to the direction of her barn and ran. Twilight nodded and speed walked to her library.
"Yeah." Fluttershy whispered she trotted away to her cottage. Pinkie Pie looked towards Rarity.
"Bye!" She said and bounced off. Rarity gave a sigh of relief when all her friends were gone. She now had time alone to work on her dress.
