If he believed in one and only than his he thought would be Grace. Yes, he liked Sarah, maybe even loved her. Especially now that she was having his baby. But he couldn't stop caring for and loving Grace. He guessed it was true about never forgetting our first love. But now with a baby coming, Wayne Rigsby knew he had to step up.
He wondered if Patrick Jane still thought about his wife, other than seeking revenge for her murder. Maybe he would go ask him. He went over to where Jane appeared to be sleeping on his couch.
"Can I help you?" Jane asked.
"Jane, can I talk to you about something?"
"Fire away."
"So you still love your wife?"
With that Jane's eyes shot open. "What?"
"Your wife, are you still in love with her?"
"Rigsby, this is clearly about your feelings for Grace and Sarah being pregnant."
Who, how did Jane know about the pregnancy. Rigsby though. He hadn't told anyone. "Kind of." Rigsby responded.
"You don't stop loving someone just cause they're dead Rigsby. Yes, I still love my wife. Just as you still love Grace."
"That the reason you still wear your wedding ring?"
"Partly. It's also a reminder of her and a tribute to her, a way of still honoring her."
"Jane, how did you know that Sarah was pregnant?"
"I acted just like you when I found out Angela was pregnant with Charlotte." Jane said with a smile.
"Do you ever think about falling in love again?"
"Sometimes. Rigsby, let me ask you this. It's clear you still have left over feelings for Grace. Are those cause you still are in love with her. Or do you just love her as a friend?"
"I'm not sure. I care about her. I find myself thinking about her now and then."
"Ask yourself this. If Sarah wasn't pregnant, and Grace wanted to get back together with you, would you?"
Rigsby didn't say anything. He wasn't sure. Grace hurt him when they broke up and he wasn't sure he could trust that it wouldn't happen again.
"I think Grace is just a friend to you. If you really think about it, you'll see it too. You should count yourself lucky to be friends with her, she's a great girl."
"I do."
"Children are a blessing Rigsby," Jane said looking a little lost in thought, "You'll be great and do just fine." Jane smiled.
