This was a dare by tatjanablack. Usually I don't update things this short, but here you go anyway.
Merlin,
I dare you to write a drabble about your favorite person in HP where there is something with purple in it.
I may have taken the "something" a bit too far.
Remus smiled as he crossed the threshold into his apartment. It had been two long days since he had been home, moving Potterwatch to a new location. It was a crusade, something he could sink his teeth into. Furthermore, he'd been able to stay close to home, only leaving occasionally. Despite his short absence, he knew that his wife would be waiting for him. His wife. The words sounded so perfect now that the guilt has slipped away. It had been a long journey, but with an eight and a half month pregnant Tonks, he knew that he had made the right choice. He now embraced his happiness, taking it one day at a time. Now, even two nights away from her was hell. Why had he ever wanted to leave her? Every single day, he thanked Harry for showing him what was right.
"Tonks!" he called as he entered the door. He'd sent his patronus ahead to warn her he was returning home, but he called out anyway. "Where are you…"
Entering the livingroom, he trailed off in horror at what he saw.
The first thing that Remus thought was that a bomb had exploded. While the room was still in tact, he didn't know what else could cause such madness. He'd seen things before, terrible things, but never before had he been so shocked. It seemed that something had fallen from the sky and turned the world upside-down. The whole room was a shocking shade of purple.
Remus blinked, as though the notion could somehow expel the colour. But when his eyes refocused, he was forced to accept it wasn't an illusion. The walls were purple, the carpet was purple. Even the old couch had been turned a shade that would make a plum feel ashamed.
And sitting in the middle of it all was Tonks, her deep violet hair flowing over her lavender nightgown. In the middle of the madness, his wife was sitting in the centre of the room on a lilac recliner eating from a bowl of grapes balancing on her round stomach.
"Hey, sweetie," she said, as Remus stood gobsmacked in the doorway. "Thanks for your message, I poured you a drink."
Sure enough, when Remus looked, he saw a purple glass. Even the foaming butterbeer was a deep mauve. It was enough to make Remus snap.
"What the hell is going on?" Usually he rarely raised his voice, but this was truly a situation that called for a bit of yelling. He was used to Tonks, and her crazy affinty for colour, but this was way passed his coping point.
However, his reaction was wasted, for his wife just blinked. Twice. He noted her eyes were like amethysts. "What do you mean, honey?" she finally asked, popping another grape into her mouth.
"The purple!" he managed to stutter. "Why is everything purple?"
Tonks sighed. "I missed you."
Remus was completly taken of guard. "But I was only gone two days." Her words shocked him, and it took him a moment to realise why. He'd never had someone need him the way that she did. It was strange, he would never wish such a thing on her, but now it had happened, he found he liked it. However, the feeling soon wore off, and he rolled his eyes. "That doesn't explain this atrocity," he commented mildly, gestering to the room. "One would assume you don't want to drive me away."
Tonks looked away. "The room is purple because I miss you. When you're not here, I don't want to feel blue."
Remus didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So instead, he smiled and drew here into his arms. "You are one crazy pregnant lady."
"But you love me?" Tonks giggled as he began to kiss her neck.
Remus chuckled. "There's no one else I'd rather be marooned with."
Let me know what you thought. Just a quicky there. Oh, and come to my authors profile to vote on what I should write next.
