I DO NOT OWN TWILIGHT IT IS THE PROPERTY OF STEPHANIE MEYER

Chapter 1

I sit slumped over the wheel of my Chevy Cruze, and right now I'm definitely not cruising- anywhere. I'm parked outside of Shades, the new night club, waiting on Alice. This has become a ritual. I come home after a long day of running errands and filing papers for my boss, and get two hours of sleep before I get a phone call from Alice telling me she's drunk at god know where and I have to drag myself out of bed and wait for her to come stumbling out of the club, sometime she's not alone. She brings along strangers and tells me to either let them stay over or drop them off at their apartment. This one time she even came out with a turtle named Larry, three days later a circus clown (seriously) came knocking on the door demanding for Larry back. Turns out Alice had swiped it from the Club performers while they were on break. That's enough to make a normal person insane. But it's one of the things that come with being Alice's best friend.

Anyways, I hate playing this game with Alice; she knows how much I hate waiting for her outside of a bar at three o'clock in the morning, especially when I have important business meetings the next morning. I swear the next time she calls me to pick her up this early in the morning, I will, seriously, tell her to either call a cab or hitch a ride with a stranger. I'm done!

"That's it!" I yell/whisper. "I've been out here for almost thirty minutes and this chick hasn't even bothered to come out." I begin to dig my keys out of my purse when the passenger door opens and Alice's face pokes in.

"Bella, can you take my new friend home?" she asks. Her short, spiky, hair is a mess; it's littered with streamers, party paint, and… peanuts? What the heck was happening in there?

"Hell no." I mutter putting the keys in the ignition. "I'm not going through this every day. Get in the car, so I can go home and sleep!"

"Come on Bella, This person can't get in his car and drive drunk." She's guilt tripping me now. Great. "Think about all the people who may get hurt- even worse- die!"

"Fine! Fine! You know what forget it, whatever. Call the person and let's go!" I yell, I bet my face is fire truck red right now.

"Thank you Bella! I owe you big time!" Alice squeals as she jumps out of the car and waves over a tall dark figure.

I watch as it pulls open the back door and passes out slumped over all three seats. Alice is saying something but I'm not listening. I'm too busy staring at my boss, Edward, passed out in my back seat; his messy bronze hair is a mess, also littered with party paint, streamers, and peanuts. And his cheeks are pink with exhaustion. There is no way I'm getting out of this strange predicament without embarrassment.

"And that's why he's crashing in your room!" I hear Alice peep, Picking the perfect time to start listening again.

Oh hell no!
