Oceans Of Tomorrow
"DEAN!" Sam screamed on the top of his lungs. Frantic eyes searched the racing waters below him.
Once or twice he thought he could see Dean's head break through the surface but it was pulled back under quickly.
"Dean!" How he got all the way down to the snow-covered river bank he didn't know later.
Relief washed over him as he saw the dark, unmoving figure a few feet in front of him. Sam rushed over to Dean, his knees hitting the ground hard beside his unconsciousness brother. He barely felt the cold wetness seep through his jeans.
A gash above Dean's brow bled freely. The blood stood in a stark contrast to the ghostly pallor of his skin.
Shaky fingers felt for a pulse – nothing. No breathing either.
God no! Dean! Don't do this to me!
Without losing much more time he started CPR.
His own heart hammered painfully against his ribs.
"Damnit, Dean, breathe!!" Fear and panic fought for the upper hand in his voice.
It felt like a small eternity but eventually he heard the sweetest sound ever – Dean started to cough.
The coughs got more violent, followed by retching.
"Easy, Dean. It's okay. Just breathe." Sam rubbed comforting circles on Dean's back. He felt the violent shivers wracking his brother's body.
They had to get outta here. And damn fast.
The sun was low on the horizon. Its last rays of light glimmered on the water. The scene would have been nice on another day – maybe. But right now he couldn't care less. It already felt like the temperature was below freezing. And that was bad, bad, bad.
Shit!
"S-s-s'mmy?" Dean's voice sounded hoarse and breathy.
"I'm here. It's okay. I'll get you outta here. Just hang in there, okay?!"
