Child's Play

Ness used to know this girl.

She wore ribbons in her hair, he remembered: bright red ones that made her hair look more blonde. One time he'd pulled it out and she'd yelled at him for what felt like hours. It had been funny, though; her face had been redder than the ribbon in his hand.

She'd always carried around this frying pan, too. She'd whack the 'enemy' in their silly games with it; once she'd almost broken a wooden stop sign. They'd be in soooooo much trouble for that, he remembered with a soft laugh.

He wondered what happened to her. They'd ran all over Twoson together, her and him and… there had been two others, he was pretty sure. Wow, he'd almost forgotten.

One was from Winters, he remembered suddenly. He'd had that funny accent. And he'd worn really thick glasses, and he was really smart… He'd had a little toy gun and great aim, but he'd had problems trying to keep up with the other three, especially in the summer.

The other was Dalaamese, Ness was pretty sure. He'd called himself a prince and had proclaimed himself to be a master of Mu martial arts. He'd always walked around in bare feet, too, even on the hot concrete.

It had been fun, all those games they used to play. God, he hadn't touched a baseball bat in ages.

He couldn't remember those kids' names anymore, really. The games had all stopped after he moved to Onett. That was … what happened, right? For some reason he couldn't really remember.

He didn't remember how the game ended.

Just a quick oneshot about what could happen if Ness didn't remember the end.
