This story just came to mind. I just bought the second book, and let my friend read both, and she like Fang/Nudge. So, here's a Max/Fang/Nudge one. Set after the second book. Major spoilers to second book.

Nudge's P.O.V.

I wanted to know where the condensed milk was. That's all. But when I entered Max's room, I saw the scene around me, and my heart broke.

Max saw me first. "Oh, my God, Nudge, you weren't supposed to see this." What? She was hiding…this…and expected me to be okay with it? Fang surveyed me with his dark eyes. Finally, he said, evenly, "So now you know."

I had partially recovered. "Now I know? Now I know that you guys are stuck together like glue in your free time? What about Sam?" I shouted at Max. She frowned at me, then said, "He was an Eraser."

"Did you even stop to check? And what about Lissa, huh, Fang? And what about me?" This statement was met with ringing silence, and my hands slowly came up to my mouth. "Nudge, I…we…this is…unexpected." Said Fang in a broken voice.

I backed slowly out of the room. "Oh, my God. You should NOT have heard that." I ran out of there as fast as I could.

I sat down on the beach. We were living in Florida, so it was relatively warm out. I felt someone sit next to me, and opened my eyes a little to see who it was. Then, I relaxed. "Hey, Iggy."

"Hey. What's up?"

I squinted at him in annoyance. It didn't work however, since he was a mutant blind kid. Well, actually, since we were all mutants, it was just the blind part. "How do you know something is wrong?"

He shrugged "Call it instinct. You were really tense."

I huddled, my knees drawn up to my chest. "I walked in on Max and Fang kissing." I mumbled.

Iggy looked confused. "Why does that bother you so much? Unless…no…not even possible."

I wanted to see if he could get it. "What?"

"Unless…you had a crush on Fang…"

I smiled grimly. "Bingo. I know I should have seen it. The way they look at each other, the way they watch each other's backs…I just thought we had something, when we were out by ourselves with the hawks. It was just us…What?" Iggy's face was constricting.

"I just thought. What if they have kids?"

"I'll be Aunt Nudge." Said Nudge, giggling. "And you can be Uncle Iggy."

"I'll be Uncle Total!" volunteered Total, walking up with Angel and the Gasman.

Iggy snorted. "Yes, first thing we do, let's introduce Fang and Max's kids to a mutant, talking dog. That makes perfect sense."

The Gasman looked confused. "Max is pregnant?"

Max and Fang came to the beach as well. She rolled her eyes in exasperation. "No, sweetie, I am not pregnant." She heard Fang say, under his breath, so only she could hear it. "Not for lack of trying, though…" She giggled softly and punched him lightly. Which is to say, a blow strong enough to knock a man out. Fang didn't even flinch.

Nudge watched them with a mix of jealousy, happiness, and relief.

Nudge knew that she had to move on, because Max was everything to Fang.

And she was the incredible, indescribable Maximum Ride.

And Nudge could never compete with that.

Very short, sorry if it is confusing. R+R, flames will be sent right back.
