Solitude

Summary:

"I love you." He chanted like a mantra, hugging the girl closer to his body. "I know you don't love me but let me love you."

Warning: death.

Eight years.

Two thousand nine hundred and twenty days.

Countless hours, seconds had passed. Yet, he still tormented her. His memories haunted her in her wake and his heavenly touch sent tingling sensations down the curve of her back. She lay awake in her silky white sheets reminiscing about what could have been.

What she could have been.

A loving mother.

A dedicated wife.

Haruno Sakura sighed inwardly and raked a hand through her rosette locks. Insomnia had taken its toll on her small slender frame. Her emerald orbs constantly remained dull, her face etched her weariness. Her days felt longer and longer as time slowly moved forward as she remained confined in the memories of yesterday.

Whenever the demons of insomnia chose to dispel and leave her in a permanent state of solitude. The few moments of lustful passionate intimacy she had shared with him replayed on an instant loop. The sound of his low groans, as his body moved on top of her own, heightened her senses to new levels.

He loved her flaws and all. She loved him. She truly did with all her heart, mind, body and soul. Except that she was too late. Far to late, to realize that she had loved him all along.

His cold hands cradled her face in the grasp of his much larger hands. His cerulean blue eyes bore deep into her own jade pools. "I love you." The raw emotion dripped her each word as he pressed his lips against her soft skin. He pressed her frame into his built chest.

"I love you."

"I love you."

"I love you."

"I love you." He chanted like a mantra, hugging the girl closer to his body. "I know you don't love me but let me love you."

She had remained silent.

The tears trickled down her porcelain cheeks. Her eyes landed on the picture frame of the blonde on her side table.

"Uzamaki Naruto, I love you." She breathed out between her incessant sobbing. Her petite frame shook from the intensity of her crying as realization drawled upon her.

Never would Uzamaki Naruto hear the words he longed to listen to.

He would never get to call Haruno Sakura his.

He was gone to a place with no return and she was left alone.. again.
