You could drown yourself in the sorrow
inside her eyes
and this wasn't the Ginny he knew
the girl who could always make him laugh
and who fought for what she wanted
the girl he had kissed in his sixth year
with the six loud brothers

This Ginny was w.i.t.h.d.r.a.w.n and sad
even her hair seemed duller
and her brothers were sad too-
there were only five of them now

They talked after the war
she told him
that she wasn't sure {why} she was alive anymore
he wanted to say it was for him
but he didn't think she loved him back

So he waited and smiled at her, lots
the out of the blue
one day
she kissed him
all fiery red hair and chocolate brown eyes
soft pink lips and hands in his messy hair
he realized that she wanted him
just as much as he loved her

She was crying through her smile
and he couldn't push away her pain
but he promised himself
that every day
for the rest of her life
he would give her a thousand reason to smile
