Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts or "Incomplete" by Backstreet Boys.

Riku sat on the beach staring out at the water. He missed Sora and he hated to admit it. Sora had chosen. He had chosen to hang out with his new friends Donald and Goofy rather than him. He had decided they were better, cooler. Riku sighed again poked at the soft sand with a nearby stick. Riku was old news, and they….they were in fashion now.

Empty spaces fill me up with holes

Distant faces with no place left to go

Without you within me I can't find no rest

Where I'm going is anybody's guess

Riku shuffled then stood up, wiping the sand from his pants. Turning he wondered through the town oblivious to the usual chatter and general noise. That's what not really bugged Riku though. No, what really bugged him was the fact that Sora left him. Sora didn't feel like Riku did, he didn't even try. And now ever time he thought about Sora it was like a slap in the face.

I've tried to go on like I never knew you

I'm awake but my world is half asleep

I pray for this heart to be unbroken

But without you all I'm going to be is incomplete

Riku turned around the corner of the weapon shop and stopped in his tracks. There was Sora…with his friends. They were practicing with the shabby wooden swords he and Sora used to use. He was smiling, laughing. Sora apparently was laughing at Goofy who had tripped over his own feet and land solidly on his stomach. It wasn't until Sora helped him to his feet did Sora spot him. Riku stared at Sora's piercing blue eyes.

Voices tell me I should carry on

But I am swimming in an ocean all alone

Baby, my baby

It's written on your face

You still wonder if we made a big mistake

Riku tore his eyes away knowing if he stared any longer he would do something even more stupid than telling Sora he loved him. Slowly, as though a huge weight held him back he turned and walked away. Riku was never one to cry. He couldn't remember the last time he cried at all actually, but Riku cried now.

I've tried to go on like I never knew you

I'm awake but my world is half asleep

I pray for this heart to be unbroken

But without you all I'm going to be is incomplete

He didn't cry loudly, if fact unless you looked at him closely it would appear he wasn't crying at all, but he was. Small insignificant tears rolled down his face, in an almost symbolic and graceful beauty.

I don't mean to drag it on, but I can't seem to let you go

I don't wanna make you face this world alone

I wanna let you go (alone)

Riku didn't know where he was going, but that didn't seem to matter right then. He would just go, like always. He was the unwanted one, so it was only fair he was the one that left, but sometimes Riku didn't want to leave. He didn't always want to be the one without friends, without a home, without love.

I've tried to go on like I never knew you

I'm awake but my world is half asleep

I pray for this heart to be unbroken

But without you all I'm going to be is incomplete

But Riku was the one that always went on without. He was never the content, complete one, because that was Riku. He could love someone enough to let them go, he could love someone enough to be incomplete.

Incomplete

Hope you enjoyed this one-shot. This was a challenge to me by a friend to write a song-fic using of course this song. I wrote it in about 45 minutes with lots of interruptions. Yeh, GO RIKU/SORA PAIRINGS!

Oh yeh, please review.
