Kagome's POV

'What is there to live for in this life? Nothing. The world has brought my nothing but pain, agony and despair. I feel lost and unhappy, as though nothing can bring me up from this hole I have dug for myself. So this is why I'm finally taking the final step and face my fears; after what seems years of hesitating I'm finally going to do it, I'm going to take my own life. I don't care what is said and I don't care who tries to stop me.'

Authors POV

Kagome sat against her bathtub brushing her fingers along the veins that ran along her wrist, she sighed deeply only imagining the chaos that her death might bring. Sighing deeply, she picked up the blade that sat beside her; she closed her eyes and felt the icy sensation of the blade as she pressed it against her left wrist. The feeling sent a burst of memories to run through her mind; of her and her family, of her and her love. Of the few moments she was happy.

She began to apply pressure on her wrist with the blade and began to slowly slide it along her skin making sure to cut herself deeply enough, while numerous tears began to fall. She felt the warm thick liquid run down her arms and heard droplets fall onto the white towels of her bathroom.

'Goodbye Inuyasha, my love. I now understand that Kikyo has something to offer that I don't. She can offer you happiness, all I gave you was lust.' she thought as she pressed the cold blade against her opposite wrist.

In an instant her other wrist was slit and now, it was simply to wait until the eternal angels lifted her and carried her to paradise. She felt herself soon fade away and closed her eyes. In a matter of minutes, she sat in a puddle of her own blood as she waited for her death.

A loud crash could be heard outside her door but she didn't care. While her life was being drained away, Inuyasha was on the other side of the bathroom door, trying to knock it down in his human state. He had to save her, he needed her in his life, it was no longer a desire, it was a necesity.
