Bat-Devil Origin
Matthew Wayne is the son of the successful CEO and owner of Wayne Chemicals. During his time in business, his father made very powerful enemies. They felt that he wronged them in some way.
One day, Matthew was being given a tour of one of his father's chemical warehouses. Little did they know that a few of his father's enemies were plotting to kill him and his family. Matthew's mother and father fell into a vat of chemicals, killing them. When they fell in, it created a splash of chemicals that landed on Matthew's face, blinding him forever.
Vowing to bring criminals to justice, Matthew went to law school and became a successful lawyer. He was happy. Matthew was bringing evil-doers to justice. Yet, something was missing. He couldn't help but question the chaos that is our judicial system.
Hoping to avenge his parent's death, Matthew became crime-fighter Bat-Devil. He realized that if he really wanted to bring justice to criminals, he would have to take it in his own hands.
By day, he is the successful lawyer Matthew Wayne. By night, he is the dark, elusive, crime-fighter: The Bat-Devil.
