Kurt/Bobby

"Please understand, everything I have done I did to help all of mutantkind."

As Magneto finished speaking, Professor Xavier looked out at his students, "I know many of you will not like this, but I am letting Magneto stay here at the mansion with us. I have looked into his mind and have seen no ulterior motives. I hope that, in time, you will come to accept Magneto."

Jean and Storm and Beast were diplomatic enough to keep their protests to themselves and trust in the Professor, but Scott spoke up angrily, "Professor, are you forgetting about how he exposed us all? He planned the whole Sentinel encounter from the start!"

The Professor responded patiently, having expected this, "Scott, mutants were bound to be exposed eventually. Magneto only forced the issue. It would have been a difficult experience no matter what."

Scott looked like he was going to protest again, but Rogue set a gloved hand on his shoulder, "He's telling the truth, Scott. Magneto has always tried to help mutants, even if we don't agree with him."

He still didn't seem fine with it but stopped in surprise as Kurt stepped forward to stop in front of Magneto, "I hope the Professor's right to trust you because I'm trusting you, too."

Magneto smiled and nodded, "Thank you. You won't be sorry, Nightcrawler."

All of the students were shocked that Kurt was willing to accept Magneto so quickly, except for Rogue. Having absorbed Kurt more than once and being his sister as well, she understood Kurt better than just about anyone else. While she wasn't as ready as Kurt to accept Magneto, she understood his reasons perfectly.

As he went back to sit with the other students, Rogue patted him on the back, while Bobby asked, "Why did you do that?"

Kurt quietly answered, "Everyone deserves a second chance."

Scott quickly, and crossly, muttered, "Even Mystique?"

Kurt's eyes hardened, "She had her chances, Scott."

Bobby wrapped an arm around his boyfriend's shoulders, knowing that Scott had crossed a line with Kurt. Having grown up blue and furry, Kurt didn't get fair treatment at all.
