Lucina walked through the field. The sun was warm on her face, and a gentle field was playing with her hair. Wildflowers swayed in the long grass. She smiled and hummed a tune that she had heard somewhere, but she didn't know where. She looked up at the blue sky. Swifts and Dragonflies danced between the puffy clouds. She smiled. Turning her eyes back to earth, she gazed across the field. There was a lone tree. She walked the fifty or so yards to it, and dropped onto the ground. She looked at the foliage above her. Her eyelids fluttered. She let them close, and drifted off to sleep.
My eyes slid open. Why had I woken up? I heard a twig snap. I propped my self up on my elbow. I didn't see anything, only the grass around me. I heard a noise behind me. I looked up. Standing over me, was a man dressed in black clothes, a mask was covering his face. Before I could react, he drew his sword, and hit me on the head with it's pommel. I crumpled to the ground, red lights flashing, mingilng with black dots that swam in front of my eyes. I felt him slip his arms under me, and pick me up. He walked for a while, carrying me. I made no attempt to escape. I was too disoriented, and hoped that he would set me down somewhere, when I regained my senses. Just seconds after these thoughts ran through my foggy head, I heard horse hooves.
"Hey, you!" barked a voice with a different accent. I presumed that he was the horse rider. "Put her down!"
The man who was carrying me started to run. The horseman followed us. I heard swords being drawn, and I was dropped on the ground with a thud. I heard them fighting, and then a shout of pain. Human footsteps sounded as one of them fled. I heard someone walking up me. He picked me up gently, and carried over to his horse. I opened my eyes a crack and looked at him. His blue eyes were clear and serious. Blue-black hair, that was held back by a headband, went down to his jawbone. Bangs fell into his eyes. He had me in his arms, and rode the horse without reins. I was too tired to try to escape, and my arm was numb. I passed out.
I regained consciousness, but I kept my eyes closed. I was on something soft, a bed, I presumed. I heard movement and whispering.
"Stop shoving!" I heard someone hiss.
"S'not my fault you smell like a dragon pen!" someone else hissed back.
"Hey, you two." the same voice with the accent, the man who had taken me from that other guy. "Knock it off." I stirred a bit. All sounds ceased. I opened my eyes and found myself looking at a white ceiling with a skylight.
