Crash!
Yomi's mug hit the ground, hot milk tea flooding the area beneath her feet and chair, the scalding liquid burning her toes. Yet she didn't notice, her face frozen in sudden realization.
She's never going to leave.
It had been five years, and even still, Tomo was there, loving, open, and silly as could be, albeit a bit more mature. Countless arguments had happened, fights had occurred, and Yomi had even left, yet when she returned, Tomo was there, snacks at the ready, arms open.
"Yomi?" Tomo called. "Are you okay?
Yomi nodded to herself. "I… yes!"
Tomo entered the kitchen and gasped. "You're bleeding! Yomi, you numbnut," she exclaimed. She snatched a rag from the table and dabbed at the wound sighing. "You're making me miss my show."
Yomi chuckled, and suddenly, a tear rolled down her cheek. She began to cry and Tomo let her, bandaging her wound in silent understanding. Yomi cried for a good while too, and eventually, Tomo led her to the couch, settling her in.
"You don't need to say anything," she whispered, looking at Yomi. Tears stained her glasses. "I was just waiting for you to understand." She took Yomi's hand and relaxed into the couch. "Now shush, my show is on."
Yomi couldn't help but laugh.
