A Masterpiece
Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. They said we needed fixing, that by doing this the world itself would be better. They said we humans took everything for granted, that we did not deserve this gift of life. It was simple really, an easy decision, their duty- wipe away our souls, replace them with new ones.
I was certain my end had come, but I fought. I would not relinquish the possession of mind. Most of humanity has succumbed. I refuse to fade away.
Chapter 1: Wanda
Visions came to me in bright flashes and enchanting lights, filling my mind with her vivid memories of a beautiful man. I saw her life like it was my own, in swirling colors of gold's and red, felt her emotions as if they were my own. No longer was my favorite color green, it was blue. Blue because she loved the way it stood against her pale skin, blue because he loved the way it looked on her. My favorite book was Romeo and Juliet, even though I hated sappy love stories, because she loved the idea of falling in love. I hated the sun, the hot made me uncomfortable, but she loved it since it reminded her of home.
Her voice was like an itch to my mind, constantly complaining- fighting to overtake my mind, the mind that once belonged to her only. I had been warned of the challenges of living inside a human, their overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But I had never expected her to fight back.
"This is my body! Give it back!" I can almost hear her pounding hands against an invisible wall. Her sobs echo inside my mind, her pleas for a man. His name is Edward. I've never met him before but my heart aches for him. This emotion is foreign to me.
"NO!" she yells at me, I jump at her sudden anger, "You'll never have him," she growls almost inhumanly.
We stare out the window; everything seems to look the same- the grey sky, the cold wet air, the red monster I call a truck sitting in the driveway.
But we all know- nothing will ever be the same.
A/N: So this is my first ever Xover, hope it's not too horrible. Any way this chapters short but I promise they'll be longer in the future. Hope you like! Please review :D
