The "shop."
The "shop that grants wishes."
Where something desired is obtained by paying a price of equal value.
For whatever you want...there is always a price to pay.
This is the law of the Wish Shop.
What would you wish for?
What do you need to wish for?
Only those who have a genuine need can apply.
You want it, you pay the price. The price could be a trinket, a tool, a blood sacrifice, a service, a promise.
Take care, as you may desire things for which the payment is too much. There really is such thing as too high a price. Where the price can be your feelings, your talents, your memories, your life, or even your own soul.
Such desires might not be worth pursuing by virtue of their own value in payment.
Regardless, the payment varies in value to the desire, to the one who desires. To others, the payment may seem absurd, petty, or monumental. The only ones who truly know the true value of the wish and the payment, are the customer, and the shop's owner.
The one who desires...and the one who can grant the desire.
A sacred transaction, an act of balance obeying a higher natural law. If this sacred balance is defied, pain and chaos can manifest as a consequence, in whatever amount is needed to pay for the defiance.
The customer cannot pay too much or too little. The shop owner cannot charge too much or too little.
The payment must be...reasonable...equitable...and fair.
Perhaps, you would rather not risk paying such a price for your wish?
Perhaps you might fear the consequence of a wish gone awry?
Perhaps...
...you may be content to witness such a transaction take place?
A story of a story. The beginning, middle, and end of a long saga. The road to absolute power and wisdom, to a confrontation between opposing forces, an ode to hate and love.
