"Zuko!" Aang cheered, "Come look at the baby turtle ducks!"
The fire bender gave one of his rare smiles as he moved to where the beaming Avatar was kneeling over a pond.
"Come on!" Aang grabbed Zuko's wrist and pulled him down to his level, "Look, look!"
Zuko shook the boy's hand off but glanced at the pool. Four small turtle ducks were splashing around while their mother looked on calmly. Zuko's smile grew a bit. He loved turtle ducks. The aquatic creatures reminded him of his mother and the times they used to spend together at their own little pond feeding the turtle ducks that gathered there. The fire bender had even come up with names for some of the regulars, which Azula had scoffed and laughed at him for. After his mother's passing he spent most of his free time with the ducks, talking to them- telling them his fears, his worries, his feelings. Sometimes they felt like his only friends. Of course…
Zuko glanced over at Aang. The boy's eyes were comicaly wide, as was his grin. The fire bender knew that Katara, Sokka and Toph were all standing somewhere behind him.
…he had friends now.
