In the Rain
Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts.
this fic was inspired by a fanfiction prop game i discovered at a con. the prompt was Rain.
He knew that this was going to be the last time. The last time he would see his beloved blonde headed teammate. He cursed himself a hundred times a fool for even caring about him. It was risky to form bonds among the Organization, but as the fool he fell hard and fast for the little blue eyed blonde that fell into his care. The rain fell softly in the Town that Never Was. His long red spikes drooped under the weight of the tears from above. He cursed his un-beating heart that people claimed he didn't have. There was so much that he wanted to say but wouldn't say because he didn't know how to. He didn't know how to tell the one person that he cared about most that he loved him and that he didn't want him to leave. His non-existent heart clenched in pain. Kingdom Hearts was pouring out its own tears for the things that couldn't be said. When the time came to be sarcastic he was good at that but saying what he wanted to say in moments like this he didn't know. Something within him prompted the red head to try at least, but there was the knowledge that it would be futile to even try to convince him to stay in the Organization; more importantly himself. Though he knew that he would go even if he tried to stop him. The rain chilled him as he leaned against the brick wall waiting for him. He would have to pass this spot in order to get out of town. As he anticipated the blonde was storming towards the entrance of the city.
"You're mind's made up?"
He couldn't hold back the emotion that clogged his throat as he spoke to the blonde.
"Why did the Keyblade choose me?"
His anger was pliable and so was the confusion. "I have to know."
"You can't turn your back on the Organization."
He protested fiercely. There were some things that they couldn't change and being apart of this Organization was one of them.
"If you get on their bad side they'll destroy you."
"No one would miss me."
His heart clenched in pain at the blonde's words. The red head watched him walk out of his life and this town knowing that it would be the last time.
"That's not true," he protested. "I would," he felt the words leave his lips knowing that they would fall upon deaf ears.
There wasn't anything else that could be done. He'd made his choice and in the end and he'd have to deal with it at a later time. From now on they would be enemies. His heart clenched in pain and suffering. What little he'd learned from being around Roxas taught him something that even a creature like him, a Nobody had a heart that could break.
