It was such a lonely day for young J. There he sat in the middle of the woods. He enjoyed sitting on the usual tree stump he'd visit. It was such a peaceful area he'd visit. There were many trees surrounding the area. The area was an opening in the middle of the woods. J never really understood why the trees grew all around except in that one area. There was so much space, the sunlight clearly shone through the light up the roses spread around the stump he sat on. The trees surrounding him were mostly made up of Oak, but there were also a couple Cherry Blossoms to help add certain serenity to the place.

J usually went to that place by himself all day, every day. He didn't have any friends or family in the village he lived in nearby, so no one really noticed when he went out to the woods. He was happier as a child. He had a few friends, his mother, and his father. He didn't have much, but he was happy. But his mother and father decided it would be best to pack up and move to a different village. Of course, J wasn't particularly happy with the decision, seeing as he had to leave the only friends he had. But regardless how he felt, he found himself in his new home in Shizukesa Village. His mother and father struggled to be able to provide for him, but they always seemed to manage. He graduated from high school by the time he was 18. His parents were happy to see all their hard work pay off. It was raining while they were driving home from the ceremony. As they were driving, they accidentally hydroplaned on the road and the car swerved, going straight into a tree. J survived the crash, of course. The same couldn't be said about his parents. Since J was 18, it was determined that he could live by himself without the need of parents. He was officially his own man now.

Sitting on the tree stump and admiring the beauty of the nature around him was the only way he could forget about what happened for a moment. But there he sat again, emotionless. He didn't feel happiness, sadness, angry, pain. He was numb now.

It was getting kind of late now. He got up and made his way out of the woods; back to Shizukesa village. He'd watch people walking. He especially noticed the happy expressions of the children who had the privilege to hold the hands of their parents. J despised the children, their parents, their homes, their pets, their jobs. Every little thing that made the people of Shizukesa village who they are, he despised. He would die hating them. The reason Shizukesa got its name is because it is said that all who live there feel certain "Serenity". A happy feeling J could no longer feel.

J made his way to his "home"; an uninhabited spot under a bridge. Seeing as he couldn't afford the house after his parents died, this was the only spot he could think of living at. There was a patch of dead grass where he would sleep on. He lied down, rested his head on a flat rock and covered himself with an old newspaper. He usually had insomnia to keep him up most of the night, but this night he felt unusually drowsy. He fell asleep within 10 minutes.
