Alternate Ending
Author's note: I decided to write this alternate ending because I found the one in the movie quite silly and drama-less, so I hope you enjoy it. By the way, I'll make General Magnus Kayne more like General Marquez from "Once upon a time in Mexico", you know, a little more cold blooded. So, that being said, let us move forward.
Lake Monroe High School Dance.
As planned, Carter asked every other girl in the dance to put their masks on as the new Queen was to be announced. General Kayne entered along with his second in command, he was surprised to see the amount of teenage girls in the place.
-There's princesses everywhere... ah... Caribbean Blue... -he said approaching whom he believed was Rosalinda.
-Come with me Princess, and nobody will hurt your friends -he said
With a nod Carter began to follow him to the outside, unbeknown to General Kayne, inside, Rosalinda was being crowned as queen of the dance. As the real Princess got to the stage to get her crown she noticed that Carter was nowhere to be found, following a hunch she went outside. There General Kayne was about to show Carter to a helicopter waiting there.
-GENERAL KAYNE!!!! -a voiced yelled behind them
The man turned around and saw in shock that Princess Rosalinda was before him but in a peach colored dress. Also shocked, Carter removed her mask revealing herself.
-What are you doing? The plan was going perfectly -Carter said
-This is my fight... not yours... -Rosalinda replied
-But
-She's right... it's not your fight
-NO!!!!
Rosalinda screamed when she saw the gun in General Kayne's hand go off. Carter didn't heard it... she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, when she looked down she could see the red stain growing in her dress, she glared at Rosalinda for a couple of seconds before plummeting to the floor, the helicopter doors opened and Major Mason came out, Rosalinda just stood there as General Kayne's men and himself, exchanged fire with Major Mason and his men who came from the parking lot, she glared at the eyes of General Kayne as he pointed his gun at her.
-You'll catch up with your friend in a moment Princesita
With tears running down her face she stood up to him.
-I'll be more than happy.
And then, a gunshot. And General Kyle fell forward with a bullet in his back, Major Mason ran to Carter who laid motionless in the floor.
-Carter, baby...
The teenager struggled to open her eyes.
-Da... Daddy... Daddy I... I'm... I'm sorry...
-You'll be fine...
-I'm cold... and... asleepy...
-Help is on the way... you can
-Mom... Mom... is here... she... she's... beautiful...
Major Mason closed his eyes as he felt his daughter's hand slowly release his as her eyes closed for one last time.
Three months later.
Joe Mason was sitting in the dock in the lake that was in front of his house, he was glaring at the water, remembering all the moments he lived there with Carter, closing his eyes he tried to relive each moment and each sound, to his surprise the sound of steps behind him mixed his memories with reality. The figure glaring at him shocked him.
-Your Highness?
-No. Just Rosie.
-What?
-I'm no longer Queen. I abdicated and as a last act of duty I asked the Prime Minister to call for Democratic Elections in Costa Luna.
-What are you doing here? I don't understand. -Joe Mason said.
Rosie walked to him and took his hands in hers, the man saw the tears running down her face.
-I... I loved Carter like a sister... and she... she gave her life for me... so I ask you... please... please let me love you as a father... as I know you'll love me as a daughter...
Joe Mason couldn't hold the tears as he hugged her.
-You think Carter would have wanted this?
-I'm sure -Rosie replied.
Both hugged as the radiant sun marked a new beginning for their lives.
The End.
