Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Thomas, Percy and the Dragon" from Season 3. Enjoy and comment.
Thomas and Percy are really good friends, but sometimes, Percy likes to tease Thomas about being frightened.
This makes Thomas very cross.
One evening, Thomas was sleeping, but Percy wanted to talk to him,
"Wake up Thomas! Are you dreaming about the time I was a ghost?"
"Certainly not! I was only pretending to be scared, and I knew it was you really."
Percy went on teasing him.
"I hope the conductor leaves the light on for you!"
"Why?" asked Thomas. "I quite like the dark."
"Oh really?!" exclaimed Percy. "I thought you were afraid of the dark. I wonder why?"
Without saying another word, Thomas went back to sleep.
The next morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to see him.
"I want you to go to the harbor tonight. There's something unusual for you to collect."
"What is it?" asked Thomas.
"Wait and see!" replied Sir Topham Hatt.
Meanwhile, Percy was shunting freight cars, when Henry arrived with his goods train.
The signalman changed the switches, and Percy had to wait for Henry to go by.
Then, there was trouble.
"The switches are jammed!" cried the signalman. "I can't switch Percy back! The workmen can't mend them 'till morning! It's too late now!"
"Sorry Percy." said the driver, "you'll have to stay here tonight."
"What about you?" asked Percy. "Can't you stay here with me?"
"We want our tea!" called the fireman and driver.
Percy was speechless, and crosser than ever.
Later that evening, Percy was forced to watch the other engines return to the sheds.
Now, Percy was feeling very lonely.
"Oh dear!" he moaned. "It's too dark!"
Everytime Percy heard a strange noise, he would say…
"What is that?!"
"I wish Thomas was here too!" he sighed.
Meanwhile, Thomas was waiting for his mysterious special special at the harbor.
Suddenly, Thomas saw it! It was a big, paper dragon!
"Cinders and ashes!" cried Thomas. "It's a dragon!"
"Don't worry!" replied his driver. "It's only made of paper! It's for the carnival tomorrow!"
Workmen lifted the dragon onto Thomas's flatbed, and lit it for protection.
Then, Thomas set off into the cool, misty night.
Percy was fast asleep on his siding, and didn't know Thomas was approaching him,
When Thomas came by, Percy woke up,
"HELP!" cried Percy. "I'm not going to open my eyes until my driver comes!"
Next morning, the switches were mended, and Percy set off again.
Gordon was just about to leave with the Express, when Percy arrived.
"You'll never guess what I saw last night!"
Gordon didn't care one bit.
"I'm an Express engine, and I don't care one bit what you saw last night!"
"I saw a huge dragon! It was covered in lights!"
"You've been in the sun too long!" moaned Gordon. "Your dome has cracked!"
Gordon steamed away.
When the other engines heard the news, they laughed too.
"Look out for the scary dragon!" laughed James. "It's going to gobble you up!"
"Nobody believes me!" moaned Percy. "Maybe I did imagine the dragon, after all!"
But Percy soon found out wrong.
"HELP ME!" cried Percy as he saw the dragon/
"It's alright!" whistled Thomas.
Then, he explained about the carnival.
"By the way, how was sleeping on the siding?"
Percy told Thomas the truth.
"Well Percy." said Thomas, "maybe we do get scared sometimes, but if we can admit it, that means we're brave!"
Percy agreed!
