Prayer
--
Rain rolls down the window;
The reflection of my face.
I see you standing there,
In this time and place.
--
Are you who I think you are?
The one I thought was lost.
You sacrificed yourself for me;
You paid the ultimate cost.
--
I never should have let you go;
You were never meant to burn.
Your image haunts me still.
It's your voice for which I yearn.
--
I look into the darkness
And wish it were the light.
You saw the world in black and white,
Now I'll keep up your fight.
--
Please guide me through the fire,
Just like you used to do.
I can't do this without you,
You were the braver of us two.
A/N: Most of the time I leave my poems up for interpretation and the meaning of this one is fairly obvious, but I just want to clarify one thing: THIS IS NOT "WINCEST!" It really bothers me when people write them as lovers. Can't people tell the difference between sibling love and true love love? Believe me, there's a big one. As Edmund says in Mansfield Park, "There are as many forms of love as moments in a lifetime." This poem is clearly just about someone morning the loss of their older brother. If you choose to read this any other way then fine, just don't tell me about it okay?
