Night Time Wonders

Hermione wrapped her coat tighter around her body, hoping the wind would soon cease. She felt stupid standing out here in her dress. But nothing seemed worst than having to go back into that god-awful party. Cormac had already tried multiple times to get her under the mistletoe and Ronald wasn't even there so the whole thing was completely barbaric. "They call me the smartest witch of all time yet I come up with the dumbest of plans. Well at least I could have a nice stroll along the lake. Harry seemed to occupied on Ginny to notice that I'm gone, and Cormac well he will just have to entertain himself", she thought to herself. She kicked of her heels and started walking barefoot through the grass, towards an empty spot near the water.

All the while she couldn't stop thinking about what would have happened if Ron had come with her instead of Cormac. The night would have meant so much more, instead of just a way to get Ron jealous. She sits down and grabs her knees pulling them in close, not very much caring that she just had a dress on. She looks out across the water and wishes that these feelings would be over. Ever since she began fancying Ron everything has just been so much harder. Always making sure she looked relatively fashionable. Making sure she had nice breath. Trying to always make an excuse to help him or get him alone. Why did it always have to be so complicated. The wind picked up and it blew her hair in front of her face for a mere second, as she wisped it back she noticed two feet coming down the hill towards the lake, his red hair lighting up the night. As he came closer she noticed that he wasn't

smiling. He sat down and sighed.

"Hey."

She looked from his face, back towards the lake.

"Hey." She said quietly, fighting the urge to jump him. I mean it was Christmas Eve and all that. Her only wish was for a kiss from him and nothing more. Her fantasies and delusions were irrational but somehow she enjoyed them. She looked back at him. His eyes were filled with sadness and he looked as though he hadn't gotten much sleep in awhile.

"Ron," He turned to look at me.

"You alright? You look...confused." His eyes glistened as she said this, like she understood some misread message.

"Hermione, I've been thinking this over a lot. I haven't been able to

sleep and I can't stop thinking about…." He trailed off. But instead of trying to explain he continued his rambling.

"I was really upset with you for awhile, I mean the Christmas Party?

And why Cormac? He's such a git. But most of because of the way you.."

He stopped and looked at her. His ears as red as his hair. She didn't know what to say, this all just didn't make any sense was he actually saying he may possibly have feelings her. That's mental! He has a girlfriend, one way more pretty and girly than she could ever be. She sat speechless.

"I'm not good with words, you know that Hermione. But I knew I needed

to get this across. " Before she could blink his hand was on hers and her lips were closed on his. It felt wonderful. Everything in her body spinned as she felt the sensation course through her. His kiss was all that she ever wanted and hearing him say the things that he did was beyond her. After all this time and it was finally on the surface. And it was wonderful. They pulled apart and just looked at each other,

both smiling ear from ear. But a low rumble soon interrupted them.

"Hermione! Hermione!" the earth began to shake and Ron soon became

blurry.

"Hermione! Get up!" came the course voice of one Lavendar Brown.

She awoke with a start. It was just a dream, a wonderful dream.

"Hey Hermione." Said a familiar voice coming from outside the girl's room. She turned to see Ron standing outside. Smiling she shook her head hello then buried her face into the pillows as she saw Lavendar prance off with Ron.

"Nothing in life will ever be simple again." She thought to herself.
