Snow

In the forest, Harry realizes it.

---

I just feel the cold
All colors seem to fade away
I can't reach my soul
I would stop running
If I knew there was a chance
It tears me apart
To sacrifice it all
But I'm forced to let go

Within Temptations - Frozen

The cold seeped through his bones, as the wind howled around him. The forest was cloaked in white, the snow crystals that danced through the air did not make the future look less bleak. His dark green cloak pooled around him as he sat in the snow, staring into nothingness.

His lips slowly turned to blue, as tears slowly fell from his glazed eyes. He doesn't hear the howl of the hungry wolves that roam the forest searching for food that will still their hunger. He doesn't notice the light that the full moon shines on him, nor does he care about the blood that seeps through the dark fabric of his sleeves and slowly mars his white surroundings. The pain that the wounds that encircle his wrists inflict is numb due to the cold.

The footprints that he left behind are slowly filling up, as if he were never really there.

He only moves when he hears a deep growl behind him, he rises. His eyes close, and only open when he is fully turned around. He doesn't run when he sees the hunger in the eyes of the beast. Nor when he sees the desperation. They're an old acquaintance of him.

And Harry smiles.
