She shakes her arms free from the fallen leaves that had landed on her. The cool morning autumn air chilling her slightly, and the breeze gently blowing her long raven hair about her. She sat up from her comfortable place in her sleeping bag, placed beside the embers of a once vibrant campfire.
Sighing, she looks around at her still sleeping companions; Sango, Miroku, Kilala, Shippou, and Inuyasha. Rubbing her tired eyes, she slowly crept from her sleeping back, trying hard not to disrupt the kitsune who had made himself cozy beside her.
'Might as well start making breakfast.' she thought to herself while digging through her over sized yellow bag.
'Hmm... I need to go home and get more supplies. I only have enough to get through lunch...'
She was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of someone clearing their throat, coming from a certain hanyou standing behind her Looking up, she noticed his amber eyes piercing into her, with an unusual expression.
"Kagome?" Inuyasha asked quietly, only audible to Kagome.
"Yes, Inuyasha?"
"Are you ok? I mean, you look really rough. Are you feeling alright?"
She was taken back by his question. She had to admit, she really wasn't feeling well, but she just blamed it on not sleeping soundly at night, the long days of traveling to search for shards of the Shikon jewel, and then having to run home for exams.
'Yea, that must be the reason... just a bit more rest an I'll be fine'
Ignoring his question, Kagome busied herself with the task of preparing breakfast for everyone before starting another long day of shard hunting.
"Here you are Inuyasha" she said with a smile while handing him a bowl of his favourite food, ramen. She hoped that maybe this would distract him from his inquiry, which it did, but that only lasted until he finished it – a while two seconds.
Kagome thought now would be a good time for her to tell Inuyasha about going home.... she just hoped he would let her go without a big argument.
Taking a deep breath, she decided to ask him. "Umm... Inuyasha?"
"Yes?"
"Umm... I was wondering... Could I go home for a couple of days? I need to get more supplies, and a have huge exams coming up that I really need to study for. Please please please please please!?!?!"
"Kagome..." Inuyasha started, but tensed all of a sudden. His eyes shot from Kagome, looking to his left. He sniffed for a brief second, then scowled. "What the hell does he want now!?"
Kagome looked at Inuyasha with confusion, but before she could breath a word, she sensed jewel shards heading their way, and fast. No sooner did she sense them, a small tornado came into view, and Kouga of the wolf tribe came bounding towards Kagome.
"Hey mutt, I hope you've been taking care of my Kagome for me!" Kouga shouted, coming to a screeching stop in front of Kagome, right between her and Inuyasha.
"SHE AIN'T YOURS YA MANGY WOLF!" Inuyasha all but yelled, waking up his other companions.
Miroku was the first to respond out of the recently sleeping group members.
*Yawn* "Good morning everyone," looking around at each person, he just realized that Kouga had joined their group."Kouga... what a surprise to see you here this early." Miroku had a somewhat shocked expression marring his face.
"Yes Kouga," Sango chided in. "What are you doing here so early in the morning?"
Inuyasha could tell from the sly look on the Wolf Price's face exactly what he was here for.
