A/N: Yes! I'm back with a new name and a new story. I'm sorry about the nature of this story, I know when this scene actually takes place I'll be bawling my eyes out, with a box Kleenex screaming "Damn you Hall!" But until then, I just have to picture it like this. Reviews are always appreciated . Thank you all for taking the time to read my story.

The Words You Never Want to Say

He walked for what it seemed like forever. There were days he couldn't wait to make this walk over to the house. That house. But now the walk was filled with dread. It had been a week since the mock trial, and he had been avoiding her for a week. He knew it was childish but if he spoke, he knew what would come out: the words you never want to say.

He feels like he's walking death row, a prisoner with no way out. The house is a mere few feet in front of him. What does he do? Does he turn around and run back, forgetting everything? Or does he swallow his tears and do what's best for both of them? It'll be better for both of you. He rings the doorbell. She answers the door in her cute pink pajamas with a towel in her hair.

"Adam!" she says with such joy. She has missed him. She goes to hug him but his embrace is different. She pulls back and looks at him, sensing something is wrong. "What's going on?" He opens his mouth, but no words come out. He tries again.

"Jane…" He just stares at her and then a flash. Her eyes widen. She gets it. He begins to cry.

"Shh. Come here." She hugs him, doesn't want to let go. Then she puts her hands on his face and kisses him one last time. She steps back; she doesn't want him to see her break down. After all, she's caused him too much pain already. She knows why it's happening, it's been happening. She turns to go back inside her house, he heads down the steps of the porch of where they first became a couple, but before she can let him go, she has to say it one last time. "Adam?" He turns around and waits for her to speak. "I love you."

"I love you too Jane." With that he goes on to make the journey home, a single tear shedding down his face. Even in the silence, it's always hard with the words you never want to say.
