Changes Aren't Always bad
A Change from The Normal Routine
Yumi woke up in the same place she always woke in, at the same time she always woke at.
She dressed and ate, like always. She did her duties, like always.
She studied, like always. Every day is the same. Nothing ever changes.
Yumi doesn't like change, they end up tuning out unlike you want them to.
As she walked through the castle that evening, she had made her mind up. She wanted a change.
'Anything to get me out of this boring routine.' She thought.
She spent her evening planning what and how she would do it.
That night she went to bed feeling satisfied with her plan.
The next morning, she went into her routine. That night, when her parents were asleep, she changed into something dark, opened her window and scaled down the palace wall with a rope tied to her bedpost. She stopped about 10 feet above the ground, pushing her feet against the wall. Eventually she jumped and grabbed a post on top of the gate. Pulling herself up, she let go of the rope and jumped carefully off the wall.
"Haha, I'm free." She said quietly.
Walking the short distance to the sea, she savoured the salty air.
Yumi sat on a rock, dipping her now bare feet into the vast ocean before her. The water level rose to her knees, and she dipped a hand in. It was cold, like all sea water.
A raindrop fell on her shoulder, then another and another. The rain came down heavily.
But instead of going back to the Castle, Yumi sat there and let the rain soak her as well as the sea. The waves were now rough, splashing freely over the rocks, and over Yumi.
"Now this is really living!" Yumi cried, laughing.
Then the thunder and lightning rolled in. It frightened Yumi a bit, but not enough to make her head back.
She leant back on her hands, but one slipped on the wet rock, she lost her balance and fell backwards.
Her back hitting the rocks was painful, but when she started slipping down into the sea, she tried to grip the grooves in the rock, but the algae were slippy and she slid down into the rough waters.
She was luckily a strong swimmer, and headed back to the shore.
However, the waves were strong and soon engulfed the teenager. She managed to surface, but she was running out of energy.
She was engulfed by another wave; she swallowed a huge amount of salt water and passed out, drifting further and further out to sea.
I know it's short and not very good, but it'll get better, I promise :3
