A/N: This is my first Gravity Falls fic. I got so caught up while writing this that I didn't realize that I spent 3 hours on it. I was going to submit it last night, but decided to wait, and worked 2 more hours on it today. This is the result of 5 hours of work. I hope you like it.
Dipper looked at the newspaper again. He couldn't believe what he had just read.
Monster sighted in Gravity Fall forest. Is the Pines family actually telling the truth about supernatural encounters?
A cat creature has been seen in the forest of Gravity falls. It alternates between standing on its hind paws and using all four legs. On its hind paws, it stands at about four feet. We caution anyone entering the forest to keep your eyes out for this creature. We were lucky enough to get an interview with monster hunter, Dan Larwrence, who gave us quite a bit of information he has found about the monster.
"First thing people noticed was that she was feline, keeping to the woods and only coming into town when everyone was asleep. After she attacked a veterinarian last week, they noticed that this cat was female. I've even got a few pictures."
He showed us several pictures of the creature, which are featured near the end of this article.
"I figure that I'll get her by next week. I came here to find monsters, and I think I've chosen the right place!"
Tonight is the full moon, so we are setting up a video camera in the forest so you will be able to see this creature live tonight on the news at 10.
Dipper looked at the pictures at the bottom, which showed a brown cat-like creature walking theough the forest. He cut the article out of the paper and ran to the attic. Mabel was still asleep, so Dipper woke her up. "Mabel! Mabel! Mabel!"
Mabel opened her eyes. "Hey! I was sleeping."
"Sorry, but I found something really amazing!"
Dipper showed the paper to Mabel, who looked at it as if she was confused. "Buy one get one free dog food? Dipper, we don't have a dog."
"Not that. Read the article."
Mabel grabbed the paper from Dipper's hands and read it. Her eyes went big, and she read to again to be sure. "Dipper, how did they get these pictures?"
"I don't know. They probably set up cameras in the forest. Now that the Blind Eye is gone, people are starting to see the true side of Gravity Falls! I'm going into the woods tonight to get pictures."
"I don't think that's a good idea."
Dipper looked at Mabel. "Why? We've seen lots of monsters around Gravity Falls. A cat creature is nothing."
"What if it's a werecat? If one of them bites you, you get turned into one!"
Dipper laughed. "Mabel, it's werewolves, not werecats. Those don't exist."
"Well... it could be a misidentified werewolf!"
Dipper rolled his eyes. "Mabel, I'm going with or without you."
"Sorry Dipper. I'm not going this time. I've got stuff to do."
Dipper left the room. He had to be prepared if he was going to find the cat.

Dipper walked into the woods rich after sunset, which was at nine. After searching for a while, he found a trail of paw prints. Just what I was looking for. If I follow these tracks, I'll find the cat creature in no time.
Dipper wandered into the wood even farther, following the trail of paw prints. He looked at his watch. The time read 9:55. The news would be turning on the cameras soon. Dipper looked up from the paw prints. There, gleaming in the light of the full moon, was the most beautiful lake Dipper had ever seen. It was oval shaped, with the short side facing a rock formation with a cave. The rocks were pure white and, if Dipper were to compare them to anything, looked like small moons. Dipper walked around the lake and went to where the rock formation was. This would be a good place to wait, as the cat couldn't sneak up behind him.
Dipper looked at his watch. 10:10 was the time. The live video feed camera was definitely on by now. He heard a branch crack and turned his head. The sound stopped. Dipper slowly walked to the source of the sound, but was immeadialty knocked over. His attacker was a red wolf. It dragged him on the ground, taking him towards the mountains of Gravity Falls. Dropping him, the wolf prepared to devour him. Just then, a brown cat creature about his size pushed the wolf away. Great. I have two animals trying to eat me and a injured leg. I seriously doubt this could get worse.
The brown cat ran over, picked him up by the coller of his shirt and dragged him away, back to where the wolf first attacked him. By now Dipper had made the connection that this was the feline that was in the paper. She was definitely not a normal cat, as instead of eating him right there, she was dragging him for a while. Eventually, they were at the lake. The cat put him down.
Dipper waited for the final bite, but all he heard was growling. He opened his eyes. There, on the other side of the lake, was the wolf. Dipper had no idea how it got there so fast, but all he wanted was to be back at the Mystery Shack.
The cat leapt over the lake and landed on the other side, and began to speak to the wolf.
"Get away from here. You know this is my hunting territory. That human wasn't on your's until you dragged him over there."
The wolf spoke in a sickingly sweet voice. "I was just protecting my prey. Bunny rabbits aren't very filling, and fish are impossible to catch. Besides, you're just a small kitten. No where in the Moonlight Code does it say I can't kill you."
The wolf pounced on the cat, but the cat just rolled away and jumped on the wolf, grabbing its throat with her claws.
"You know perfectly well that the Moonlight Code specifically prohibits the intentional murder of pups and kits. He is still a mere pup, yet you treat him as an enemy."
"He was on my territory. That makes him the enemy."
"He was actually on my territory. You can't just drag him onto your's and claim he was trespassing."
The wolf's mouth turned into something resembling a smile.
"It's not breaking the code if no one says it is," the wolf, which Dipper had decided was probably female, said. "If I kill both of you, who's to say I did anything wrong?"
The feline frowned. "You know, I feel sorry for you. You can't control your abilities, so they become a burden. You have to live your life feeling guilty for the murders you committed. Please, do yourself a favor and leave."
The red wolf bared her teeth and lunged at the cat, who immeadiatly grabbed the wolf's neck with her teeth, causing her to collapse.
She walked over to Dipper. "Are you okay, human?"
Dipper didn't know what happened next, as he had lost too much blood. He fainted.

The cat didn't know what to do. He can't be dead, he can't be dead. He has a pulse, but he's not going to last much longer. She sighed. Desperate times call for desperate measures. The human needed medical care, which was far more than she could provide. What she was about to do would put her on the "monsters most wanted" list she had seen on one of her journeys. She grabbed the boy by the collar of his shirt and ran to the nearest human town, Gravity Falls. There was a building near the forest, where a few off duty doctors were. She ran over to it, gently laid him on the ground, and started growling and pretending to scratch him. A few of them came over to investigate and saw the cat over the boy they believed she was harming. One came over to chase her, so she got up and ran, hoping she left the boy in good hands. He shouldn't enter the forest ever again. I will do everything I can to keep him away.

Dipper opened his eyes, the continuous beeping noise had woken him up. He was in a hospital. How did I get here? Dipper noticed that his leg was in a cast. I was right. I broke my leg.
A doctor came in. Your great uncle and sister are here to see you. Before Dipper could say anything, his sister had him wrapped in a tight hug. "OhmygoshDipperareyouokay?" Mabel was speaking really fast, so fast that Dipper had no idea what she said.
"Could you repeat that?"
"I was asking if you were okay."
Dipper responded. "I'm fine. I was just attacked by the cat creature."
Mabel was obviously confused. "Can you say that again?"
"I was attacked by the cat. It tried to eat me Mabel! It tried to eat me!"
Mabel shifted slightly on her feet. "Are you sure she wasn't protecting you from the werewolf?"
"What werewolf? I never said anything about a werewolf."
Mabel's eye went big for a second, but then went back to normal. "Um, yeah you did. You were just telling me about how a wolf and cat were fighting over you."
"I never said there was a wolf."
"Dipper, are you feeling okay? You told me there was a wolf, remember?" Her voice sounded a bit different when she said the word remember, but Dipper didn't notice.
"Oh yeah. I remember now."
"Good. Now, you can't go into the woods ever again."
Dipper sat up so suddenly, the bed shook. "What? But we have to get pictures of it!"
Mabel was trying to calm him down. "You can't Dipper. It's too dangerous in there."
Dipper agreed and Mabel departed. "I am going back. I'll need the book, and then I can figure out what the cat is."
What Dipper didn't know was that Mabel heard every word he said.
