A/N: I'm not even going to deny the fact that this is rushed and (here comes the excuse) this is mostly because I was deciding between a couple of 'sad' moments. I didn't want a heart-wrenching one such as Ace's death or Merry's burial-at-sea. I thought Robin's back story was pretty tear-worthy, but the 'I want to live' sold it for me.

She had lied so many times in her life that, when she finally screamed it, she couldn't bring herself to believe it.
On the tower, a drop away, her and those she wanted to protect stood.
It wasn't anything, really. It shouldn't have been anything.
Standing on that tower, stubborn face of her captain glaring furiously at a flag that held more power than it really should.
The burn of a flag, books, Olvia, mum, Saul, Buster Call, Ohara, laughing, a little boat, ice, goodbyes-
"I want to live!"
It cut through everything - Luffy's yelling and her reply.
(I want to live.)
She had lied so many times in her life that, when she finally screamed it, it was a relief that she believed it too.
