A/N: Another school poem. Soon will be writing something for Daredevil. Not really sure where to put any poems I write so...here.
Grief
Grief weighs heavy on the mind and soul
It tugs, and it pulls, and it weighs.
There is no escape from its wrath.
Grief does not settle.
They lie saying that it stays in one place
But it crawls and rips making its presence known
It damages each organ tearing it apart
It leaks out of you from an infinite pool.
Grief does not leave.
It's a dormant virus in a seemingly healthy body, and-
It hurts.
It's not like losing a limb as they say,
Its losing a piece of yourself
Only it's not a hole,
It's a dark mass that sits inside.
Grief covers you in black cloth,
Drowning out the outside world
Hiding you from what you once knew.
You're only left with a wisp of a memory
And you hope it doesn't fade,
But you know it never will.
