Patient
Jackie hit the elevator button on the bottom floor of a bank not far from the strip.
She had a bag of fast food lunch and two iced coffees in her hands. She was bringing lunch to one of her friends, she hadn't seen her in forever and her friend only had a half hour lunch break so she didn't have enough time to meet Jackie somewhere for lunch.
The elevator door opened and so Jackie stepped inside. A little boy and his mother stepped in behind her.
Before the mother could stop him the little boy pushed every button on the elevator.
"Samuel, no." The mother scolded, albeit too late.
"I'm so sorry." His mother told Jackie apologetically.
Jackie laughed.
"It's alright, I'm a mother and a teacher and so I don't mind at all." Jackie assured her.
"The elevator is fun isn't it bud?" Jackie asked the little boy with a smile.
"Yeah." He replied with pure joy.
The elevator stopped on every single floor and each time the door would open Samuel would grin at both his mother and Jackie as if he was incredibly proud of himself.
Jackie laughed.
Luckily Jackie had arrived at the bank about 15 minutes before her friend's lunch had started or otherwise she would have been very late, but Jackie always arrived everywhere early, it drove Nick nuts at times but all of his married friends told him how lucky he was that Jackie was like that because their wife's made them late for everything.
Finally the elevator stopped on Jackie's floor.
"Thank you for being so patient." The mother told Jackie gratefully.
"No problem." Jackie assured her with a smile.
Jackie had a nice lunch with her friend and when she got back on the elevator to leave Samuel and his mother stepped in right behind her again.
"I bet you are thrilled to see us again huh?" The woman told Jackie.
Jackie just laughed, kids really did crack her up!
The End!
