Light fought back a groan as the click of computer keys continued to pierce the silence of the hotel room. It was three in the morning and L had yet to go to sleep. He had kept Light up until one in the morning looking for information on Kira and his identity. Even when Light had pulled him into their room, the detective had insisted on bringing a laptop. Light was now regretting agreeing. The chain connecting them jingled as L reached for whatever Watari had brought him. The polite teen was losing his patience as he was kept from sleep. When the clicking and tapping started again, Light had finally had enough. Pushing himself up off his stomach, he grabbed his pillow and smacked L in the face with it. The typing finally stopped.
"Will you stop working already? I can't sleep with you constantly typing. Just lay down so I can get to some rest," Light said irritably. Settling back down, he closed his eyes and was about to drift off when he was suddenly hit on the back of the head. Turning his head he looked at L who was holding his pillow.
"My suspicion of you being Kira has risen 2 percent with your act of aggression," L said with his ever straight face. Light gaped at him disbelievingly.
"I'm grumpy because you're keeping me up to ungodly hours and expecting me to get up early to work on the case. Now will you just let me get to sleep before you continue working?" Light retorted. He closed his eyes again only to be hit by L once more. He scowled and sat up grabbing his pillow. Turning, he hit L in the shoulder. The situation degraded from there.
The two men dissolved into a pillow fight that sent the laptop and files sprawling onto the floor in a mess. They rolled about the large bed, hitting each other with pillows. Quickly though, they were tangled in the chain of their handcuffs. Bodies pressed close together, they stared into each other's eyes. A minute of silence passes, Light staring down at L who was pinned beneath him. A light pink, barely visible in the dimly lit room, dusted the famous detective's cheeks. Leaning down slowly, allowing time for the other male to protest, he pressed his lips to L's chapped ones. L tasted like sugar and strawberries. Pulling back for air, they untangled themselves and then settled to lie on the bed. Arranging the chain, Light wrapped his arms around L and pulled the older man to him. Finally, the teen drifted off to sleep with the insomniac following after.
