An End in Sight

In a clearing next to the remains of an abandoned mansion sounds of a fierce battle rang out. For once one of Naraku's intricate plans to eliminate Inuyasha and his annoying friends had collapsed in on itself. Through a spread of the usual rumors he had managed to lure them up on a slim mountain road where any reaction to attack would be considerably slowed. Confident in his plan and long winning streak he had take a position to watch the whole thing at the bottom of the mountain. Both he and his child like incarnation where waiting just around a sharp turn for the unsuspecting Inuyasha and friends. Once caught off guard they would fall quickly. In truth he had grown bored of them. But despite all of the bows tied on his plan he had missed one, Kohaku. Having realized the opportunity presented he knew that then was the time to reveal his recovered memories. The young boy raced to warn his sister and her band of warriors of the waiting Hakudoshi soon to block their path. In his hurry the boy had been noticed by only one, though this was only Kagura who was interested in her own freedom.

Fortune was in the favor of the heroes as Kohaku was able to catch up to them before their encounter. With a quickly put together but precise plan to counter Naraku's they headed out. Although she agreed with what she had overheard Kagura decided that there was room for improvement. In the moment before the plan was put into action she launched an attack of her own. The explosion caused by the wind witch's' strike drew Hakudoshi's attention for but a moment. Suddenly an arrow pierced the air purifying the demon horse on which the child rode, turning it to dust and leaving him to plummet to the bottom of the mountain.

Naraku could do nothing but stare as his plan collapsed around him.

" How! How could this happen!" Time for me to leave. The shocked demon turned to make his exit.

"Naraku! You wouldn't be leaving would you?"

Naraku froze and turned to see at the edge of the tree line stood Inuyasha, Sango, and Kohaku. " But… how?! I just saw…"

"look again." Came the elder slayers reply. The wide eyed Naraku turned to see the group on the mountain disappear in a poof of smoke.

………….

"NO DAMN YOU KAGURA!" screamed Hakudoshi as he plummeted from the sky. Soon he was aware of the monk waiting on the ground for him.

It's finally happening. This is it! Thought Miroku who then turned his cursed hand to the air, releasing the seal, and shouting "WIND TUNNEL!"

These were the last words the demon boy heard as the curse Naraku had started so many years ago finished the latest incarnation off.

Mirokus thoughts soared as the moment that he had waited the entirety of his life came even closer. Father, Grand-father, soon the cures will be lifted from our family. A single tear fell as he ran to join the others.

………….

It's come. Finally I can have revenge. The huntress looked the young boy next to her. And I have Kohaku back.

They trust me still! Maybe I can have … or no…. the shard. The boy looked to Naraku. No matter what it ends today!

The visibly pleased dog thought now, today. It happens, you…

"DIE NARAKU!" came the shout from all present. And with the battle cry the bone boomerang flew through the air on a path with the demon. Twisting to avoid it the younger slayers chain swooped down from above catching Naraku's arm. With a yank he was turned to face Inuyasha.

"Not so fun on this side of the plan is it!" Commented the half breed "Wind Scar" the swing of the Tetsuaiga released a blaze of energy engulfed the monster turning up the dust…………………………
