"... But all great things happen at night, Simon!"
"Alvin... We're 14. NOTHING is supposed to happen at night other than sleeping."
"At night, all the Ghouls, Ghosts, Grims--!"
"And a bunch of other stuff that start with 'G' i imagine, come out. But the problem is, dear brother, they do not exist."
-Simon said, while covering his older brother with a blanket.
"Whaaat!? You dare to challenge the forces of the uber-natural??!"-Alvin responded, standing over the bed.
"... Alvin. It's SUPERnatural, to begin with. And yes, i do 'dare to challenge it's forces'..." -Simon said in a mocking tone.
"Now, sleep, please. It's almost midnight."
"Midnight!! It's the Witches' hour!!"-Alvin exclaimed on a tone filled with suspense.
"... Alviiiin..."
"Simon! Now more than ever i must NOT sleep!! What if i see one??
What if one takes me with her??
Or she takes Theo, or David or..."-And he just stared blankly at his brother's gray eyes.
"Alvin?..."
"... S-Simon... Can i... S-Sleep with you...?"
"I thought you were not sleeping."-Said Simon smirking and folding his arms.
"... Can i...?"-Alvin was out of character, and it made Simon think things trough.
Alvin looked like he was talking serious.
"Sure."
Both brothers went to sleep, Simon's blue bed was cozy and well made,
opposite to Alvin's messy red bed.
"Simon... Are you awake?.."
"..."
"Simon...?? Simon?"
"I'M NOT, ALVIN!! I wasn't awake 2 minutes ago when you asked me and i'm not awake now!!"
"..."
"Oh, God... I'm sorry Alvin... I... I didn't mean to... I was... I..."
"N... It's okay, Simon... I'm sorry i was such a jerk waking you up like that..."
"No... Look, i was the jerk, alright?... W-what did you needed me for?"
"... It's nothing really..."
"Just tell me, Alvin. I'm all ears."
"I just wanted to know that... You were still there..."
"Wasn't touching me enough?"
"Nope... You could have been wounded... Or passed out, or..."
"Is this because of the 'witch' stuff'?"
Alvin softly nodded.
"Oh, Alvin..." Simon hugged his brother, kissing his forehead. "I'm okay, don't you worry about me.
No witch or ghoul, ghost or grim can take me away from you."
Alvin cuddled with Simon, closing his eyes slowly.
"You know, Simon? I WAS right.
"Hum?..."
"Great things DO happen at night..."
Both chipmunks smiled.
And soon, they were asleep.
No creature capable to tear them apart.
Or even make Alvin stop hugging his brother tight to himself.
(So tight it was making Simon a little dizzy, but he didn't said anything.)
