This is just something I was thinking about. Anyway I'm not really familiar with how to upload stories and things because this is my first time. So please review my story and please be kind.
She sat alone in the Gryffindor common room for the first time in weeks. The fire blazed rather fiercely. It all seemed so warm and cosy. But Hermione knew that this was just the calm before the storm. Harry and Ron had been agitated all week. Hogwarts as a whole had been on edge for the last weeks. Hogwarts was under siege. Nobody had been on their own since the time it had become clear that the final battle was about to begin.
The waiting was agonising. The Slytherin house was empty. All the little snakes had gone home. The Hufflepuff's has stayed out of loyalty, Ravenclaw stayed because some wanted to be the recorders of history and other wanted a chance to be part of the glorious fight that was to come. The Gryffindor's were rearing to go. This was not just Harry Potter's fight. They were all fighting for justice and the chance to live their lives the way they saw fit.
Hermione had spent the last two weeks learning charms and brewing potions that would help them when the time came. The cupboards at the hospital wing were full or every possible thing imaginable that they may need. The wizarding world was precariously balanced. Not many people knew about the prophecy and everybody seemed to the think that the light and dark we very well matched.
It was close to midnight. The sound of silence was comforting. Hermione was glad for the silence and the solitude. It gave her a chance to reflect on the future, the past and the present. She was confident or her ability to protect herself and put up a good fight. All that she had lived for and fought for was going to matter now. It felt as though she had spent her entire life preparing for this moment and it was almost here. She felt strong and brave but didn't really trust it. She didn't know what would happen on the battleground.
The sky outside began to darken too quickly. Very soon the only light that was left in the room was the fire. She heard footsteps running to where she was.
Ron and Harry burst into the room. They looked at her with determination in their eyes
'It's time'
Hermione smiled at them and wondered if this was the last time they would be together like this.
Hermione took a step toward the door and the boys fell in line with her. Together they marched down to the Great Hall to lead battle that would begin very soon.
Even if none of them survived. They would always have this moment. The one where they stood together, strong and undefeated. Even if they all didn't make it, they would fight to the death
…. for freedom.
So what did you think?
