Wyatt Cain went into town once a week to get supplies. This week was no different from any other, until Mr. Renfield came out of the post office and called out to him.

"Wyatt," yelled Renfield.

Cain turned around to the man, who was holding out an envelope to Cain. Walking over to the town's postmaster, Cain said, "Thanks."

Renfield stood there watching Cain. When the envelope was placed in his hand, Wyatt could see that it had the royal seal. Now he understood the reaction Renfield was giving him. Looking around, Cain could see that the whole town knew about the letter and he wondered how long the letter had been waiting for him.

Slipping the letter into his pack, Cain climbed on his horse and headed back to his cabin. Once out of sight from the town, Cain pulled out the letter. Opening it up carefully, he didn't want to ruin anything that was sent to him from DG.

"My Dearest friend," DG always started her letters to him that way. She told him once that it was a line from a movie from the other side that she liked. She always thought of Cain that way, no matter what.

"So, how are things going out there? Don't know if you've heard what is going on here, but Mother is really talking about retiring. She really wants me to be the next Queen of the O.Z.

I know we've talked about this before, Mr. Cain, but I don't think I am the right person for this job. I was a college student and waitress on the other side. I don't think those two things are going to help me be a good queen for the O.Z.

Yes I know I've been taking queen lessons since returning to the O.Z., along with my magic lessons, but it's only been three years since I got back. I don't think that is enough time for me to be a real queen. I can't seem to get Mother to understand any of this.

I hope you will write back soon (more then 10 words from you would be great). I've been bugging Glitch and Az with my prattle. I need to hear what you think.

Sometimes I think you were right, I am just a kid and don't know what the hell I'm doing.

I was thinking the other day of the day I set you free from your tin suit. I came charging down the hill to take on the longcoats with a stick in my hand and the anger of watching those men pick on a man and his family.

Do you think if I take a stick to my Mother, I could change her mind? No, I really don't think it would work either. Oh well, it was just a thought."

Cain stopped reading. What was the Princess thinking? She was more than ready to be Queen of the O.Z. Why was she worried about any of this? Pushing his hat back on his head, Cain knew he had to go to Central City and see the girl and straighten her out. Riding the rest of the way to the cabin, he put away his supplies and got his pack ready to ride to Central City, when he heard some noises outside the cabin. Opening up a curtain, he saw a fancy car and Glitch was walking toward the cabin.

He opened the door before Glitch got there. "Advisor," said Cain.

"Oh, Cain, you are here. I was afraid I would have to track you down," said Glitch. "DG needs you badly. The Queen is announcing her retirement tomorrow and DG will be the new Queen. DG is, as she says, 'Freaking out all over the place', and she needs you with her for moral support. That, or you can kill her for Az and me."

"I was just packing to leave for Central City," said Cain. "I'll take a ride in your car over a horse any time."

"Good," said Glitch. "Between the three of us, we should be able to calm her down. Jeb has gone to get Raw from his village. This isn't a good time for us, but we will get DG ready to be the best Queen of the O.Z.
