Pointless fluff.

Barry hadn't really planned on being the single father of triplets, but that's just how life works out sometimes.

Don't get him wrong, Barry loved his kids dearly, but they drove him up the wall sometimes.

When he had walked into that orphanage, he had been looking for a little girl or boy to adopt. When he spotted Annie, he knew immediately that she was the one he wanted. Walking over and kneeling by her, he had quietly asked her what her name was. Her answer surprised him.

"You can't adopt me coz I know you won't take Andy and Randy with you. I don't want to leave them!" Then she burst into tears. He looked toward the nice lady who had let him in with a bewildered expression, and she had suppressed a sigh.

"I'm sorry Mr. Allen. Annie, Andy and Randy are triplets. It's been impossible to get them adopted because they refuse to leave each other, and no one wants triplets." Here she dropped her voice. "I'm sure that's why their mother left them here."

Barry thought about it, and decided to have talk with all three of them. Randy was the oldest, and he made sure you knew it. He was very protective of his younger siblings, and had a defiant look about him. Annie was the middle child, and she was outgoing and blunt, but very sweet. Andy was the youngest, and he was very shy.

Looking at the three of them, Barry began considering.

Well, he had prepared a room for whoever he adopted, but he did have that guest bedroom...

Randy's face when he told him that he planned on taking all three of them was worth the headache paperwork caused.

He had hung up the suit, but that didn't change his abilities; repainting the room was a breeze.

As soon as they had stepped foot in his house, Barry knew he loved them.

Annie knew she loved Barry two weeks later, when he let her keep the kitten she had found in a box.

Andy loved him when Barry called in sick from work to take care of Andy, who was the actual sick one.

Randy loved him when Barry pulled them all out of school to celebrate their 7th birthday.

They really were a family now.
