Disclaimer: I don't own the A-Team or anything like that.

A/N: I just started writing and then realized it worked as an A-Team drabble. This takes place when the team returns to LA after their escape from Fort Bragg.

Search for Serenity

The cool sand slowly weighed heavier around his feet; feet that were sinking deeper with each small wave that crashed against his shins.

Still, he just stood there.

Frozen.

Unfocused eyes were directed straight ahead, but seeing nothing. His ears barely registered the crashing of the waves, or the whistling of the wind. He barely felt the sharp stings against his cheeks, or the tautness on his scalp as his hair was blown back.

A passerby would think he was mesmerized by the ocean. Just a man standing at the edge of the water; jeans rolled up, hands in his pockets, staring out at the horizon. He looked casually peaceful.

On the inside, he was anything but. When he was a small child, the ocean had been calming, a sense of wonder. Maybe that was why he'd come here, trying to recapture that sense of serenity.

It wasn't working.

Too much had happened since the last time he was here. He didn't know how to reconcile the little boy that could be calmed by the ocean with the hardened and bitter man he had become. His worlds had collided, and he was at a loss for how to manage that.

A/N: Hope you enjoyed this short little piece! I'm working on a few other A-Team stories (currently still in the planning stages), but I'm also debating about whether to add to this or not... Let me know what you think. I'm not marking it as complete just yet. As always, reviews are greatly appreciated!
