Well, this might not be my highest quality work do to my exhaustion... but you guys should enjoy!
Hardcore Kataangers can read my other story "Missing Pieces Aang & Katara" which actually develops a storyline :).
Wind swept across the pine-covered ridge where the girl sat with her legs dangling over the edge of a cliff. The bright noon sun shone down onto her tan features, creating a strong contrast between her caramel skin and twinkly blue eyes. Her long, thick brown hair fluttered in the strong breeze, impairing her vision as it smacked against her face. She sighed to herself and glanced down at the object in her hand. It was a flower choker given to her by a companion.
She sighed again as the memory of this certain companion once again flooded her mind. Why did he have to love her? She was so confused; her feelings towards him were a jumbled mess. She had only traveled with him for a few weeks yet he had found his way into her heart with his undeniable charm and his sweet politeness. At first, she refused to look at him in that manor, for he was a year and a half younger then her; he was just a boy. But as time passed, she began to question her motives for keeping him away. She would find herself daydreaming on what things would be like if she were to spend the rest of her life with him. Upon realizing that she was daydreaming, she would mentally snap at herself and attempt to correct the dream with reality. However, as time passed she became more susceptible to the dreams until they held a constant presence somewhere in her mind. Even the mention of his name would bring the thoughts to her head.
The girl shook her head to clear her thoughts, her hair slapping her cheeks as she did. She was being ridiculous; he was just a friend. She was foolish to think otherwise. Even if she did feel a stir within whenever he walked by, it was not because she loved him—no, not at all.
The girl clutched the choker nervously as she looked out into the green valleys bellow her. She shouldn't think of such things… but Aunt Wu's prediction…
"Katara!" called a voice far behind her.
The prediction said that she was destined to be with a powerful bender and he was the most powerful bender in the world. Surely it was predicted to be him.
"Katara!"
She gazed back down at the choker, searching the little gift for a revelation. Now she was being stupid, how can she find a revelation in a choker?
"Katara, Where are you?!"
She examined the flower, turning the necklace round in her hand to view the precious piece of nature from all sides. What a beautiful flower! He was so sweet to give the river lily to her.
An explosive burst of wind nearly picked the choker from her hands as it swept long wards across the ridge, carrying flowers, branches, leaves, and pollen as it went. As if staged, a rouge river lily collided with the choker, sinking into it beside the other lily. Katara was taken aback by this strange event, but then began to wonder if fate was trying to tell her something.
"Katara! Ah, there you are!" shouted Sokka as he approached his sister on the ledge. "What are you doing? We need to keep moving north. Aang's waiting at the camp so come on."
Katara involuntarily perked up at the sound of his name. "Oh, right. Sorry, I was thinking," she said rather lamely as she rose to her feet to follow her brother.
Fortunately for her, Sokka had not seen the choker clutched tightly in her hand. Even clueless Sokka would catch on to what was going on between Aang and herself—wait, something was going on between them?!
