The faint sounds of the audience's voices filled the dressing room as the lonely figure slumped down on the chair.

People from all over came to see the great Sebastian, and son, perform their greatest magic tricks. Not forgetting all Sebastian's death-defying stunts! He sure wondered how Sebastian came up with some of his ideas. Honestly, he was surprised no one called the child protection line with some of those stunts.

Signing softly to himself, he tried to clear his head but his heart was not into performing. He lost the passion for this life years ago, he still wondered why he didn't just leave. They had enough money that he could go back to the archive. Live off the money, maybe do the odd reunion show, he could be free. But free to do what. His life was magic, that's all he has ever known. He hated this life, felt suffocated by, it was driving him crazy. He wanted to escape, to run away from everything, to...

Shaking his head, he knew it would do no good going down those thoughts, especially so close to when he had to perform. Signing again he turned to look around the room, stopping when an old poster caught his eye. He could see the haunted-looking boy staring at him, the fading words 'disappearing boy' above his head.

It was their greatest trick. Even now, after 2 years since they last performed it, people were still trying to figure out how the trick worked. It was still highly requested and even in the interviews people still asked why they did not perform the trick again.

It was simple really, and only a few chosen people knew the answer. The big family secret, the hidden truth of another brother. A brother that no one knew existed. And if his father had his way the world would never know that Jonathan Black ever existed.

But he would tell the world. He would make sure that the world knows about the twins, that his brother existed. He owed it to him.

Brother.

A word that bought so many emotions and looking at the photo only bought back the helplessness, the loneliness and feeling of failure.

The irony was not lost on him. The last time they performed the disappearing boy trick was the last time he saw his brother. Exactly 2 years ago, they were doing their usual performance, his brother out front, smiling, getting the audience to love him before risking his life and disappearing on them. Only this time he really did disappear. From everyone. From him.

Feelings of anger, frustration and abandonment hit. He could understand the need to escape, but he couldn't understand why his brother left him. Without a trace, without a word. No matter how hard they searched they could find nothing.

Thanks to his wonderful father who decided to keep this matter silent in fear that they would endanger his brother's life, they remained silent about the disappearance. Not trusting the police or anyone else but the selective few to do their own search.

His brother definitely was winning the master of Deception award. No one heard anything. His brother had truly disappeared. Disappeared and left him alone, trapped in a life he did not want, trapped with so many endless questions.

"Cameron, you are going live in 5 minutes,"

A voice broke his concentration as he looked to see a stage manager in the doorway.

Checking his makeup one last time he slowly got up. Pausing to look at the poster. It should be his brother going on stage, not him. Falling back to his childhood coping mechanisms, he raised his hand, tapping the table three times with his knuckle. "Where are you Cam? I am right here," he whispered before turning and walking away.
