DENIAL
He sees her walk by
He sees her angered face
His own face drops
As he picks up the pace
He needs to get her out of his mind
Needs her to be out of his sight
He climbs into the elevator as the doors shut
And catches a glimpse of her light
Radiantly smiling at someone else
He can't believe his eyes
She throws looks of hate in his direction
And for a stranger a bouquet of smiles
An unknown feeling enters him as he ascends downward
The doors open but he stands still
In a swift movement he hits a button and heads up again
Unable to control his own will
The doors smash open making the same sound his heart does
As he sees her playfully hitting the new doctor
He shapes his fist into a ball
And forces his gaze to a different sector
Stepping off the elevator, he grabs a few charts
She doesn't notice him as he inches closer
Looking at them out of the corner of his eye
They converse steadily and his heart beats faster . . .
