Running Away…
She walked down the streets with care; but
it was hard. She felt like a fish fighting the current. Everybody in the crowd
wanted to go the opposite way as she. Every man, woman and child; every bloody
foreigner and every native citizen; every Queen-supporter and non. It sickened
her. So many people from all over the country – and other countries – came to
see a man in a cage. She shivered. A dangerous man in a cage… Being
watched by more of them Aes Sedai. Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah. Even she, who had
nothing to fear from them – despised them.
She shivered. There was an odd… feeling in the sky today. It
seemed that she was the only one to feel it. But it was there.
As she got further from the Inner City she
felt better. The crowds were lesser here, ha! By about 10 men! Logain is a
false Dragon, one that can channel, he's unsafe, not some sort of… of…
amusement!!
As she entered her room – if you could
call it that, it was a small cubby that she was allowed to use if she made
herself useful around the inn, so she worked as a hostess and a flute-player –
she still felt that feeling. It was starting to bug her now. She couldn't seem
to think clearly with it there.
"Tasasha!" the innkeeper banged on her
door, "Tasasha! Are you in there?!"
"Yes, Master Gill."
"Where have you been? Did you get what I
sent you for?" he walked right into her little room.
"No, sorry, the crowds were too thick.
Everyone wants to see the false Dragon."
"A false Dragon or no, I have a inn to
run, I expect to see you in the common room in 10!"
She nodded. Before not too long ago false
Dragons were rare, and here there's been four in the past decade! Four! Maybe
this ment the Dark One's seals were weakening… She'd been having terrible
dreams lately. Sometimes what happened in her dreams had come true, like the
one three days before it was announced Logain would come, and then the crowds
on his coming. She even thought she saw the face of the true Dragon Reborn – he
looked like an Aielman. She hoped these dreams weren't true.
"Light, please let them not be true!"
