Hello! I am going to be making Vision Of Shadows one-shots! So if you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to crank out a few stories! I accept anything, just make sure that the characters are from Vision Of Shadows. Same gender pairs are definitely fine. No OC's please. So just submit a review with your cats, and I'll try to get out a story as fast as I can.

Someone kindly told me that non-story chapters aren't allowed on this website, so I just combined the intro with the first one-shot. Thank you for informing me of the rules.

This one is a request from Guest, Darktail x Violetpaw. Enjoy, and be sure to review and leave a request if you wish.

Darktail lay curled in his nest, thinking about the past few days' events. Violetpaw had tried to give him prey laced with poppy seeds. He tried to tough it out, give her punishment, and all that, but he kind of felt bad. He admired Violetpaw's courage, and… well, he kind of liked her. But he had to be strong. There was this whole group of cats he had to look after. And there were Clans to eliminate. But the nagging image of Violetpaw's beautiful amber eyes gazing into his own blue ones wouldn't leave his mind. With an annoyed growl, he sat up, flicking his ears. Just then, the lichen shielding his den swished, and Violetpaw's black-and-white head poked in.

"Darktail? Sleekwhisker needs your help with something." She shrugged. "I don't know what it is. Private, I guess."

The big white tom looked up. "Sure. Tell Sleekwhisker I'll be there in a moment." He watched as Violetpaw backed away, and heard her voice from across the camp. Darktail sighed. "If only I had the nerve," he muttered to himself, forcing aside the lichen and emerging into the clearing. Violetpaw stood in the middle, a bored expression on her face.

"Violetpaw? Do you need something?" he asked, his eyes genuinely caring.

Violetpaw didn't look up. "Yeah, I do. Help Sleekwhisker first. I can wait."

Darktail nodded and trotted over to Sleekwhisker, who was trying to repair a hole in the camp wall. "I don't know how to do this," she meowed helplessly.

Darktail stared at the tear. "I don't either. Fix it," he growled before stalking away to Violetpaw.

"Done already. Wow, that was quick," Violetpaw observed. "We must go into the forest. This is a more private matter."

Darktail followed Violetpaw out of the camp, forcing himself to stay calm. They came to a nice clearing, secluded from the others and listening ears. The two cats sat down, the sunlight washing their pelts. Darktail admired the way the sunlight shimmered on Violetpaw's white patches.

"You might ask why I dragged you out here," Violetpaw mewed, sounding a little unsure. "I… I don't really know how to say this…"

Darktail brushed his black tail across Violetpaw's muzzle, silencing her. "I know," he rumbled. "I was going to say the same thing. I… I kind of like you, Violetpaw."

The black-and-white she-cat let out a purr. "Straightforward, I see. I like you too, Darktail." She moved closer to press their fur together.

Darktail leaned down and touched noses with Violetpaw. Curling his tail around Violetpaw, he thought about what they could do together to rule the Clans…
