(((Summary:
When Starfire met Robin, the first English words she said to him were spoken right after she kissed him. Now Robin wonders, is it time to repay the favor?
Disclaimer: None of this is mine.
Info: This is a Teen Titans one-shot songfic. The song is Kiss the Girl from Disney's "The Little Mermaid". This is a Robin/Starfire romance.
Author notes: Robin might seem a bit OOC, but he's not. Have you seen the episode Stranded? It was mostly central on Robin/Starfire romance, and Robin acted rather discomfited throughout the whole thing.)))
Radio
Raven was prowling the city, on the lookout for crime. Beast Boy and Cyborg were hanging out downtown. It was just Robin and Starfire at the Tower.
He was intensely aware of her presence. She sat on the couch, eyes half-closed, meditating quietly as Raven had taught her. He was trying to work with the computer but couldn't seem to concentrate. All he could think about was her.
Maybe some music would distract him. Shutting down the computer, he turned on the radio to a channel that was mostly (emphasis on mostly) pop and rock.
Robin plopped down next to Starfire. She opened her eyes, smiled at him, and closed them again.
Unexpectedly, a slow, gentle song came on. Robin's head jerked up as he heard the first few lines.
There you see her,
Sitting across the way.
She don't got a lot to say,
But there's something about her.
Starfire opened her eyes and stared curiously at the radio as it played the song;
You don't know why,
But you're dying to try,
You wanna kiss the girl.
Robin stared at Starfire in horror as the song kept playing…
Yes, you want her,
Look at her, you know you do.
It's possible she wants you too,
There is one way to ask her.
Starfire tilted her head to one side, waiting.
It don't take a word, not a single word,
Go on and kiss the girl.
He was going to die of embarrassment any second now.
Shalalalalala, my oh my,
Look like the boy too shy,
Ain't gonna kiss the girl.
Shalalalalala, ain't that sad?
Ain't it a shame? Too bad,
He gonna miss the girl.
If he didn't take this chance, would she ever speak to him again? Would she ever look at him again?
Now's your moment,
If you don't, then you must be a loon.
Boy, you'd better do it soon,
No time will be better.
The others would be back any minute, and this chance might never come again…
She don't say a word
And she won't say a word until you
Kiss the girl!
He didn't want to be just friends. He wanted… what did he want?
Shalalalalala, don't be scared,
You've got the mood prepared,
Go on and kiss the girl.
Robin broke into a sweat. Don't be scared? Easy for you to say…
Shalalalalala, don't stop now,
Don't try to hide it how
You wanna kiss the girl.
Starfire's face seemed to have moved several inches closer. How had that happened? Robin realized he was leaning forward.
Shalalalalala, sing along,
Or listen to this song,
The song says 'kiss the girl'.
You shouldn't do everything you're told…
Shalalalalala, the music play,
Do what the music say,
You gotta kiss the girl.
…But what if what you're being told to do is in your best interest?
You gotta kiss the girl…
Her face was barely an inch from his…
You wanna kiss the girl…
His lips were almost touching hers…
Go on and kiss the girl.
Robin was happy to comply.
